The collisions seem off to me at times. Like the hitbox was too wide perhaps? Other than that, I love it. And the soundtrack is beautiful, where can I download it? :>
Why not just make autosave? I closed game and lost my progress, because 99% games autosave progress.

You really nailed the 8bit style. Love the long notes in the music, reminds me of the original Gargoyles Quest. The lightning early on had a dramatic Castlevania effect. I like how you mixed it up with the boss fights. Awesome job guiding you through the objectives without making it feel completely like a linear path. I think you are really good at metroid style exploration. you should consider working on a bigger game with a map and more stuff!!!
probably the only thing that bothered me was the aiming when you got the gun. mouse aiming option would be better. i know, i know, that wouldn't work well with the other actions... maybe switch controls to WASD for movement, UP jump, LEFT grenade, RIGHT & MOUSE shoot/punch. and you could still keep it 8 direction just do closest alignment with mouse. also would help in aiming grenades. but i dunno....
This game was so well made. The art and the level designs never got boring and the music was great.
I couldn't play the whole game, though, because at one point in fighting the first boss he just becomes invulnerable to any attacks I make on him, so, I couldn't progress. Hoping this is a glitch that may get fixed or will stop at some point so I can see more of the game.
