The graphics were nice, but obviously inspired by Limbo. As for the game play, some of the jumps (namely the S-shaped tunnels) were very difficult to use, since the character isn't exactly fast, and the ghosts can move through walls. If you stopped or were caught for a second, the ghost would just move through the walls above and below you, and kill you almost instantly.

Also, there was no intro, no tutorial, the only real directions for the game (light the lanterns) were in the description. I really could have used some kind of plot, something telling you why the ghosts were after you, why you were alone in the dark, even what the window that lit up with the lanterns was.

3.5 out of 5, I think it could use some polishing.

Perhaps I would have thought better of the games generally frightening atmosphere had it not have been for the ridiculously fast respawn speed. There would be points where my character would be standing behind a lantern and in less than 3 seconds after the last ghoul disappeared, another would arise. Other than that this game was very poorly introduced and given no tutorial whatsoever. The music was very nice but I was not able to enjoy it due to the poorly thought out gameplay.

Well balanced with the right mix of atmosphere and difficulty, getting the timing on the jumps right to avoid the ghouls and climb up those 'twisty ascents' did take a few tries but in the end it all came together.

I found myself wishing I had a map a number of times but having now completed the game I realize it probably would have made it too easy, perhaps you could have a beginner mode with a map and an expert mode without one?

All in all I enjoyed the experience a lot and would be happy to see more games in this style.

pretty good the only complaint I have is that the damn shadow that follows/drains you respawns way too damn fast I mean where is the false sense of hope
