Ahoy there, Captain here.
Let me make it known I must be a glitch magnet. However, I have no qualms with the glitch that I discovered in this game. Which is kinda funny, nearly all the glitches I find are ones that are helpful, rarely any that are bad.
Noticed that the deathstrike stat seems to be, in some form, permanent. Where if you receive a bonus to it from a piece of equipment, the bonus stays. It also stacks with any prior amount in the stat you had. Although it's probably intentional, a sign your skill is growing where you can instakill enemies, but because of the repetitive nature of this game someone might actually actively switch equipment for that aforementioned permanent bonus.
I ended up with 400 deathstrike and crashed through rooms never taking damage because I instakilled anything I touched. This seems to not apply to any of the other stats, only the deathstrike.
Other than that, I liked this game. Though it does get a little tiring to know that even after you're decked out with all the Soul/Spirit/Ghostly/Haunted equipment that you still don't see an improvement from your wife. She seems to simply remain a ghost with a heart. I'd hoped if I continued I'd at least see her gain more corporeal features... but alas. Kept me going it did.
Now for the scoring-
Gameplay: 10, infinite replayability.
Sound: 7, although the music was good, the sounds got old kinda fast. Perhaps it is the nature of 8 bit.
Visual: 10, it's 8 bit, but the monsters look pretty damn awesome.
Control: 10, although a little laggy occasionally, I saw no issues with the game.
Miscellaneous: 13, for just in case I forgot anything. XD
Total: 10, and rated 5.
Nothing but amazing. I do wish I could use Wasd but this is amazing.
Maybe an unlock after beating the game wink wink?
