Reviews for "Quietus II"

way too hard :c
and it lags very often making you appear dead even without moving a bit x_x
but i love the char and abiance is very nice

so hard...but so addicting...

Awesome game! Great music, graphics and gameplay.
But some levels were "fiendishly" hard, and controls didn't help much. The only way to beat the game is learning from your mistakes.

By hard.

This is cruel man... I'm at that awkward moment when you realize that you're a lot worse at the game than earlier because you have no more concentration to spare, so I'm writing this to take a small break. This has to be one of the most unforgiving games I have ever played. The controls can be unpredictable and tend to betray you when you need it the least, but I've seen a loooot worse and, besides, this isn't the biggest obstacle the player will encounter.

Right now, I'm at level 35 and at the end there's a point where one's supposed to make an impossible one-block jump with a block angle right on top of the player, and on top of it there will be a spinning morningstar chasing after me so it'll have to be a very, very fast and precise jump with a millisecond to spare... or it's 35 all over again.

...28 minutes later...

Finished. Well, to sum it up, the game is NOT boring, it made me go all the way through to the very end. The author has made an effort to make this game difficult, but I'm certain that the vast majority of Newgrounders have seen their fair share of hell in games, so I trust this won't be an issue. You'll have to dig every ounce of your old reflexes and dumb luck to beat this one.

NOW THE BAD PART:
The reason I'm supposed to bust the review score to oblivion on this one is the lack of an ongoing plot, or, in fact, ANYTHING that rewards the player for their effort. I can take a lot of punishment, but the end screen left me with the feeling that I went through all of those traps for zilch - the same feeling I had throughout the entire game! The beginning was interesting, why in the world did it stop there!? The way it is now, it's a torture session.

...but, I have the urge to try and beat this game again with as few deaths as possible and I will probably never play this game ever again.

I'm still a bit interested for some reason so I'll bust it just a wee bit. Note to the Author: Work on giving the player some kind of reward for their trouble, this is not enough.

You know, a game is supposed to be funny and it doesn't happen when the game is too hard. I know you don't want it to be too easy, but making this too difficult is not the way too. Anyway, good work.
