Hmmm

When I listened to this piece I didn't quite see what you intended it for. For me, this song conjures more of a scene involving journeying through a desolate landscape. I don't really know why, but that is what I see when I listen to this. The simple repeated sound of the acoustic guitar coupled with the percussion almost has a sort of jazz feel to it, but the other instruments pull it more into the realm of a classical piece. This song sort of grows on you the more you listen to it. Well done Maestro.

MaestroRage responds:

It's perfectly alright if you are seeing an image outside of my scope denvermagi. In fact that is something I look for in every review, it is interesting to see how the same foundation can present so many different variations of worlds. By your previous review in Cloak of Wonderment, I am going to guess you are a fan of landscapes. I too am a huge fan of landscape, the emotions, the stories they fill in my head, are astounding.

I do tend to overdo the whole tragedy scene though huh ;). Thank you for the continued support and reviews denvermagi, they really mean a good deal to me. I'm glad you found the songs enjoyable.

Wow

This one was definetly a shoker, compared to the overall theme from "Truth" and "Wonderment". I liked the whole ACoustic Guitar bass that never truly gives away anything. It expresses a feeling of hope almost. The rapid violin section gives it a shape and a form, and your description of what is going on, fits perfectly.

MaestroRage responds:

It seems my themes change around far too frequently, in fact it's almost exactly monthly, every month i'll change myself to another theme, sometimes i'll change the theme around during the month, but overall I can't compose the same type of theme for too long without taking breakers like this.

I'm glad you found the song enjoyable, this one is still one of my personal fav's. Thank you again for all the support you've shown me, truly means a good deal to me. Thanks again for this review ^^.

Great stuff!

This song's amazing. I love how you made a nearly seamless loop out of it too! (I must admit that the first bass drum hit made me jump, I wasn't expecting it at all :-P)

If I had any problems with it, it would be that the brass chords near the end sounded kinda...I'm not sure...chunky. There was one sustained chord (C over F, I think) there that kinda made me wince on the inside. In my opinion, it would sound a lot nicer with a B over G instead.

But that's the only thing I noticed. Great job! 5/5 for you.

MaestroRage responds:

interesting, I didn't really pay any attention to the brass, but there is a good chance you are correct. I'll go look deeper into the song and see what I can make out of it.

I'm glad you enjoyed the song! Thank you for the review ^^. Sorry at having made you jump :D.

hhmm......

(thumbs up)

MaestroRage responds:

thanks :D.

Thank you again for the review.

REALLY GOOD!

hehe i had to go for all caps...
i love this piece, it is a nice balancing piece. i might use it in a flash (and pigs might fly... *sigh*)

do u always do sad-ish songs?

MaestroRage responds:

It's kind of wierd isn't it, how all of my songs seem to be oriented some sad feeling. Truth be told I started making music in a pretty dark period of my life, and as a direct result I was absolutely fascinated by minor chords, as they sounded sadder. It seems even when I try to make a happy song, my mind automatically converts the notes into a minor scale, which results in it sounding sad.

I'm glad you found the piece entertaining. I still get a shiver when I imagine the story behind this song...

Thank you for the review ^^.
