Reviews for "Epexsus Episode 1"

cant wait for next episode

good though some of the voices seemed out of place (like survivor had almost no reaction in his voice about what just happened) and I think you need to keep some parts more serious(example when brother was being attacked by canines the little brother had seemed to be annoyed rather than scared or fearful for his brother this just might be a dick personality) .

so far this is pretty good give some improvements listen to comments and understand the faults even the small ones and you could be really good.

Nice animation. Thank you for sharing your work. I look forward to seeing more =).

Pros: The animation was nice for a Newgrounds flash. The sound effects fit well. The music did too...some of the time. It was long.

Cons: The character designs were seriously boring. From their hair to their eyes to their clothes, nothing stood out at all. There are glaringly obvious Naruto influences. The monsters are a joke, and I don't mean the designs which I liked but the fact that you made jokes out of them. None of the characters looked genuinely worried about the monsters killing the brother which took away all tension from those entire scenes. This left me uninterested in the later scenes with the monsters because they were amusing but not incredibly so. The flash jarringly flip-flopped between serious and silly. Some anime can get away with it but it was not done well here. As a result, the only drama in this episode was with the masked man.

Nothing in this flash made me care about any of the characters. This is excusable since it is only the first episode. Some anime can have a character on screen for only a few minutes and make the audience like and care about him but this is hard to do. Unfortunately in your flash this leaves the masked man as the only story-related reason for me to see the second episode and since currently most of his deal revolves around the main character who I don't care about, I don't really have much of a reason to care what he does either. The villages are bland and don't feel like "villages".

Overall: I was interested enough to watch until the end but my resolve to watch the next episode if you make it is stuck at "maybe". It was an overall "meh" experience but it is better than a lot of things on Newgrounds and I can see the effort you put into it so I rate it a 4/5.

I don't take the time to do such long reviews unless I think what I'm reviewing and the creator has potential. Keep it up.

The animation is smooth, the voice acting is good, but the chieftain and masked fellow, might have proper voices for the type of character, but they don't have the looks to match the voice. And the way the people are drawn, and the wolf/hog/spider beasts... it could be better. It's certainly a good first episode for a good start for a series. It has a good story and a good caste.
