Reviews for "ir/rational Redux"

Very nice game. The ending was not completely satisfying, but adequate enough for a game of this proportion.

My playtime was somwhere in the range of 5-10 minutes, All puzzles were correct at the first attempt. Most time was spent reading the story (which was very nice). However, I teach Logic & Set Theory so I would advise you to not take my time into account.

Despite the ending the puzzles were worth the time, despite the last one being mind boggling to me at all times. The ending was a bit of a let down, but not too great to take away from the sheer awesome that this game was made of. A few things that might want to be stated though, the dialogue for the ticker tape machine for the red herring was a bit of a problem because my mind was thinking too far into logic to actually get it right the first few times. However, it was an excellent game and I hope you make a sequel some how.

Not too happy with the ending, but meh, really nice game no doubt. I would love to see a sequel, which can be even harder :)

P.S: first time seeing the last challenge, I was like "the hell man?!"

If anyone wants to report their playtime it would be a really intersting stat for me. The thing about a harder sequel is that as many people would prefer an easier one!

Fun concept, and while I really enjoyed the logic puzzles I detested the pull down menus used. For some reason not all answers are visible when the menu is pulled down, and with no arrows to drag down to the other answers there is nothing to hint at there being more answers to choose from. After finally stumbling across the extra answers the puzzles came together easily enough, but this is a horrible programming misstep.

Please edit this game to include a side bar on the pulldown menus that can be used to see all the answers or expand the pulldown menus such that they show all answers at the same time.

Unfortunately I've looked at this and I just don't see a way to fix it. I'm using the Games Factory, and it seems to just draw dropdown settings from somewhere in the browser. This makes it very hard to fix.

If anyone is familiar with clickteam products and flash export and has any suggestions I'd really appreciate it.

first impression: concept: awesome.

second impression (at 6/10): very clever. so far you haven't gone beyond implications, biconditionals (iff) and conjunctions/disjunctions. going much beyond that would be pretty far beyond the capability of your average gamer and i assume you want people to at least try to finish this and in a reasonable % of cases, succeed, so that was wise on your part.

third impression (at 9/10): still fun. i wasn't sure what a red herring was, but i still completed the puzzle. i think maybe you should have defined what a red herring was. it was obvious to me from the context, but it may not be to some others and that may stop them from completing the game.

fourth impression (at 10/10): i've never seen the underscores under the and/or symbols before. it wasn't necessary. was it just to make things look more complicated than they really were? 10/10 was one of the easiest puzzles in the game.

final impression: wasn't too pleased with the ending.

was still fun and a definite 5/5

Yeah, a lot of people don't like the ending. I like some of the thematic stuff - the mechnical puzzle at the end, the integration (or lack thereof) between emotion and reason, and the character's ambivalence to death. But it could have been better, I'm sure.
