Reviews for "The Power"

i must say what a fine game.Good old neon is now in good care within this game with amazing art and awsome storyline .But i fine the weapon you gave our main character are too powerful and make the game too easy once you have it.And o think if you increase the number of those ninja-like character and decrease there hit points i think the game will be better at the end.

It was great all around, but the boss explosion sound would often get stuck on loop.

It was a fairly decent game.
The programming was very well written, the design was intreasting with neon line art, certainly is a less explored style within these retro inspired games, and had a pretty intreasting storyline.
The gameplay was pretty good, but the difficulty spike is just absurd, often leading you into many unprepared battles.

This looks like a good game I will probably play more. However you got one thing massively wrong: you give the character too many hit points, and you let him get hit too often. He gets hit by things that don't seem to touch him, and by things that are extremely difficult to avoid.

In a game like this the character should have only a few hit points (like 3) but it shouldn't be insanely difficult to avoid getting hit. It's just not fun to keep getting hit all the time (feels like failure even if you have enough hit points to "soak" it).

Love the old school neon thing you've got going here. Just the drive to find the next item was enough to keep me going right along, despite the mostly bad story. The thing I did like about it was the main character's background and how it tied in to the ending. For me, the ending holds plentiful meaning in that the treasure hunter had lived out his life and was going into retirement when he discovered that, with enough drive, he could make anything happen--create an entire world of his own, make his every dream come true. It's the story of an older man who makes a discovery, like The 40 Year Old Virgin, or Bubba Ho-Tep, which is why I love it so much.
