Reviews for "The Power"

It was okay. The bosses showed enough challenge to keep me trying again until the end fight. Able to develop a strategy for fighting the knights (for a lack of a better term) at the end until the fight against two of them. There was no pattern to be found in the fight since the enemies randomly turn around in pursuit and their attacks have no noticeable pattern. The frustration found in this fight due to the inability to dodge their attacks and the high damage their attacks delivered made me walk away from this game.
This is a bummer, as I would have liked to see the whole game.

not that it seems an AWFUL like a metroid remake with more ermmm blockier graphics but...

After a consultation with all the parties involved I admit a hasty 0 was kinda bad. Content on the game: enjoyable to the finish and really made me stop conserving my missiles for those final boss fights. Made them ten times easier. Honestly the controls didn't bug me, pressing up for jump makes sense to me although pressing down to switch weapons AND save does not. Minor enough that I almost forgot about it entirely. Hint: the "puzzles" in this game are "you don't have the required item yet, backtrack and look again".

This looked like an awesome 5 star game when I stared but A the controls are a little squiffy and that makes the platforming just too hard in certain sections and B) this contains my biggest pet peeve. The save points are _after_ the bosses. I go through some challenge, get a power up and a bunch of damange figuring out new terrain. _then_ I get to the boss and invariably die the first time. Which wouldn't be as bad if the save point was before the boss so I didn't have to go through all the same crap I just did. I gave this a 2 after I struggled with some stupid platform section really early in the game which was far harder than it should have been only to get plowed by a boss while I was trying to figure out how to kill it.

Really close but the fails are in ways that make me scream and cuss. Not even minor fails but fails that fill me with angry German kid rage.

I really wish people still made platform games, instead of puzzle games disguised as platformers. Here's another game like that, and the puzzles are the worst kind, the kind you can only figure out after you've all ready solved them. The hit detection is awful, barely bumping an object is enough to damage you. Every flash game these days has some awful, obnoxious chiptone soundtrack. I wish gaming was still fun.
