Reviews for "Adventures of Veronica"

I liked it ...

But it has some bugs ... at least on my computer ... when i want to use a item, swaping them won't work properly, I had to go right and then left to see the others every time

Excellent Job

I love these Myst like point and click adventures. The inventory was a little annoying but not enough to take away from the total experience for me. The puzzle design was great. Not too easy, not too difficult as to appeal to a broader set of gamers. I would have preferred the puzzles be much more difficult but I understand why they aren't. At the end of the day you have to appeal to casual gamers a bit in this genre so good choice to set a "difficulty level" that doesn't frighten folks off. The ending was a bit of a let down but only because I wanted a little more teaser info about the sequel. All in all, very nice game. 8/10 4/5

Walkthrough required, but...

Not a bad game, good art design and music. A few of the item pickups were not just difficult, but the result of spamming with the mouse.

The solution to the car spedometer I figured out solely by trial and error, as was the attic lock and the King/Queen matchup. But the time machine combination and the pool ball puzzles were a little TOO veiled. If you had given us a clue that the lock was six digits long, for sure, or that there might be some mirror involved (I thought the L meant it should go from right to left instead of left to right), that would have helped. And the wine bottles were just a little TOO vague.

But overall, a fun puzzle game. Really enjoyed the scenery, but puzzles and mechanics could use some tweaking.

The story was a little obscure... I'm guessing the machine was a time machine?

Keep up the good work, this shows a lot of promise as a series.

Generally good game. Good graphics, nice puzzle arrangement - not one step after another, like less imaginative games - and solutions that generally make sense.

(Spoilers here on in)
Some slight annoyances, though: the arrows for changing rooms are confusing, as sometimes going left brings you to a spot where you have to go left to return (the plant room) and in the corridor, the open door appears to just be a graphic denoting your return route, when in fact it is an extra room to travel to.

The 'blue flowers' clue is a little annoying as well, as you can click on the blue flowers, but at the moment when you would want to find out what is underneath them, you have no object that will work on them. Instead, you are expect to find a spot that appears to be unmarked and invisible /near/ them to go down. I realize there is a clue suggesting you do this, but having found the blue flowers, it takes ages to realize that you don't click on them to find out what is beneath them.

Actually, in general having a message that denotes why you've failed to choose the right object might be helpful.

Otherwise, good set of puzzles, better than the average stuff that we often find! Good job.

Well ...

Long story short, the lack of the inventory is kinda annoying since you have to click a lot. I would suggest to add a list of the items you got instead of the selection ... Then, I agree with 0114ch - you should probably give some hint when you hover the mouse over a clickable object.

On the bright side, even without hints this was solveable. Sometimes it is pretty easy and sometimes it makes you think. If you like games like this, I would recommend it.

Besides of that, I needed the walkthrough in the end for the machine code. And a small report: If you click the right spot, you can get the clawhammer before you used the hacksaw blade. Hope this helps.
