Reviews for "Checkpoint"

People need to chill out.

I played this game awhile back on armor games and thought it was really fun. The game isn't as hard to control as people make it out to be, seriously. Yes this game can be a bit rage inducing, but that's all part of the fun. :D

Glitchy, fake but addicting... Fair.

Unoriginal? Maybe not. Unamusing? Sadly, yes.

The first thing I noticed about the game was that I had a very hard time aiming my jumps. I felt like I was on a bar of soap. And then when I saw ice paths, I knew, poor control would be the main "difficulty" of the game. Alright, fine, maybe some people like that. But then, continuing, I just found it to be another unhelpful narrator game, just with even less instruction. So, boom, any text in the game is ignored. Finally, I begin to find myself dieing in random spots, usually while sliding under something, for no reason.

The game looks good, and it's anything but shoddy, but the final execution needs some work and, even if it's just to taunt players, it's getting old and it's probably the easiest way to make people feel like your game is unoriginal. Changing that and fine-tuning the controls would really bring out how good the game can be.

Played all the way through

The game has some control problems. I'm aware that it's been said, but it's a big problem, especially when you're trying to slide under things. The guy randomly stands up mid-slide no matter how much of a running start you get, it makes some of the longer slides nothing but dicerolls. You may have intended him to slide around on non-ice surfaces, but that's a big killer as well.

Interestingly enough, I didn't get the game complete bonus, either. This may be because I skipped the burger on the "you win" screen, and that was the only burger I was meant to grab.

Exit Path, but not good

As soon as I saw this game, I thought jmtb02 had finally made a sequel to Exit Path

Then I found out just how wrong I was.

The point of this game, interestingly enough, is not to get through without dying. you MUST DIE in a good many levels, and all for unexplained mechanics. no one ever told you that you could walk across your corpses to get over spikes. And you don't even enjoy the game thanks to the annoying comments at the top.

All in all, it was exactly the game the developers wanted:
"We just wanted to taunt the hell out of you while you die over and over again. :)"
And if you don't want people to enjoy it, stay of my front page.
