glad you liked it ^^

9.3 MB!!!???

how in the hell did you get 9.3 MG out of this, i mean it looked a bit complex, but 9.3?
this dies not look like stop animation...
i dont get it

Weenog responds:

the original HD avi file is about 2.91gig large.
Nearly all of it is on 1's (meaning it about twice the speed and amount of drawings in standard animation)... totaling more then 380 hand drawn scetches that were individualy scanned in, lots of them coloured in with photoshop (most of them in toons) .... the scenes in the beginning and the end had to have a real big resolution aswell becuase of the zoom in/out .
I was realy suprized to, but it turns out it's just that frikkin big.

Awesome, but could be longer.

I understand that ALL the hand drawn art would take forever, but five more seconds?

Weenog responds:

acoording to the assignment it should have been around 25 seconds long, i actualy went way over board on that part. Don't worry though, next year i'm supposed to make a movie about minute long, so if i tripple it like i did this time you'l have a decent length on your hands...(but i'll be sweat blood and tears x3 ^^)

Very original

Incredible drawing!

seriously amazing!
And, somehow, I can see FFXIII right there!

Artsy

-It's refreshing to say the least. Most animators have been drawn away from the classic paper and pencil art style used to animate. As soon as they were given the new fancy tools they slowly but surely started to completely abandon this way of doing things. It seems almost befitting that your first work would be created in this classic style as sort of a contrast to the lack of effort that most new animators give. Like you said, you have had an account for almost a decade and you've most likely seen the good, the bad, and the ugly. It probably helps that it was for school too.

-As said i'm quite impressed with how your first animation project submitted here is so good (score over 4 and daily 3rd). While the graphics aren't the best, since you had to convert the file and compress it for the size limit, you didn't need for them to be to tell the artsy side of the story. It's still possible to see all of the fine details that were incorporated and the little nuiances that can be discerned with some focus. Anything from flashy since you kept it pretty simple but it would of been completely unnecessary and would have created so much more work without earning a whole lot on results.

-You were also able to complete the package by incorporating sound into the mix that really complimented and went with the animation well. They definitely accomplished adding to the emotional side of the work and adding tension at pivital moments. It's definitely a work of art but some minor details brought it down( blurry, short, loops). I know you can't help the blurriness and the looping since you didn't use a flash program but I feel like if you could lengthen your work and add even more storyline it would improve it greatly.

Thanks alot man, this means alot to me.
I'll be sure to make my next one longer and look for a way to keep the quality crisp, aswell as adding a preloader and the likes.
cheers & thanks again!
