Boring.

First off, I would like to say that I liked the music and the GUN had good sound effects. Other than that...it was pretty boring. Whats the point of building up momentum for the run and the really slow jump?

Gameplay is based around holding the D key waiting for enemys to soak up your bullets, and occasionally pressing the S key to jump out of the way of the brain dead enemy's. Overall, it was pretty lame.

Oh, you used to do a really long jump after a run up but someone mentioned it made it really hard to land on platforms such as the lockers in the first level so i lowered it, if a couple more people complain about it; i might adjust it a bit.
Sounds like you didn't find the game hard, which is a change of pace for this game it seems; i guess some people are just plain too good.

Thanks for the review, maybe my next game will be more entertaining for you.

Controls + unforgiveness = impossibility

I enjoyed the game for the most part. The controls, however, was what made it not so fun. Trying to perfectly hold the up or down key to get that shot at the door, while jumping and trying not to be shot at the same time can get rather tedious and annoying.

But, I would have forgiven this if I received any form of forgiveness from the game itself. No checkpoints, no full health items, no powerups to weapon. I can understand if you wanted to keep this simple, and if only one of these two problems were resolved, the game would be much more playable. However, the combination of difficulty trying to hit the baddies, as well as going all the way back to the beginning of the game if you died, along with the fact that the, like, 5 cakes you find in the game only heal approximately 25% of the health bar. It's really quite a bit too much stacked against a player.

Bad controls

Ripping of Contra's controls is one thing, but doing it badly is another.

I've never played Contra and the controls a fine when you get used to it. It seems like quite a lot of people have gotten used to the controls pretty quick, there's just no pleasing everybody.
I'll make sure my next games have control customization or at least different control schemes to choose from or even if i have enough time i might update this game with one of those.

Decent but...

The glitches make it unplayable. Especially falling through the ground....

I thought the falling through the ground glitch was very rare but apparently not... I also thought i would have fixed it in the v1.1 update but apparently not... D: No idea what's causing it and i have never had it happen to me. I'll try and find and fix what's causing it.

Good concept but..

The AI were not very smart and took like 198364 bullet to kill them and waz also very repetitive i think !
