Reviews for "LARRY: Doug-Out"

Good, but bad

the doug fighting was the most aggravating thing ever, you need to make it so that as the difficulty increases so does the speed of your hitting, otherwise it is pointless t play this game.

Fun until about day 10

Then, as everyone else has mentioned, I figured out that Doug was just broken beyond repair. I started keeping low stock just so I had a chance in hell of hitting him, and even when I had only one barrel in back, by the time I had even walked there half of it was gone, and nearly the whole barrel was by the time he left. This was after the $1000 weapon upgrade. Either ramp up the weapons, slow Doug down so it's actually possible to hit him after the first few days, drop Doug's hitpoints, make the player much faster when walking back to the storeroom, speed up/eliminate the "drawing the weapon" phase (as that costs at least two extra ducks into the barrels), or, better yet, all of the above. I know no challenge makes for a boring game, and I enjoyed trying to balance the increasingly fast click bars for the drink and a tougher Doug, but this just got too hard too fast, and as of day 13 I just don't care enough to keep fighting.

Good but...

I agree with CaptAcid. It doesn't matter how fast you click on Doug, he'll get to a different barrel by the time you're halfway through the motion. It seemed like upgrading just increases Doug's health instead of decreasing the amount of punishment it deals. In that sense, there really isn't any balance. I had the second upgrade and had to beat him to a bloody pulp before he scurried off, versus the beginning levels where it took a few punches.

If you upgraded the speed of his attack, that could balance it out a bit. Other than that though, it's an uphill battle.

That one problem aside, it was a great game. Simple in objective, but fun. Just in time for Saint Patty's day too! The graphics were good, the voice acting was good, the music (though repetitive) fit the atmosphere.

Good...

except for doug. that bastard dipped too fast for the animation of the bartender to hit him no matter how quickly you react or how close you are to him. and he took me almost 15 hits to make him go away once and i completely lost all of my barrels.

hahahah

I have to say this is by far one of the best and funniest games on NG, I can't help but notice though....Doug looks like a Frenchman...He does!

Jazza responds:

well if he's french.. he's very drunk.
