Reviews for "Greater Fighter"

well finally Im done

So I finally managed to clear the game, took me a while, I had gotten to the third stage and had honestly given up but then you updated the game and life got alot easier and also made the game more enjoyable, The new exp system makes it sweet and easy to dash and level throug the game, however skill is still necesary in order to win :); however adding the 2 new guys made it perhaps WAY too easy lol how ironic, also is funny to notice that with the new level up system the main characters arent that great.

Heres how i classify em:
1. Comander: that guy is insane his damage and armor is off the charts and it takes only 5 second to release his special, he takes the cake as the best character him alone is enough to beat pretty much all enemies in the game.
2.M.O.E: His armor and speed are insane and he DOESNT miss a shot, his only downside is his low att, however he DOESNT MISS and his special makes up for it as it can be deadly if used right.
3.Hexos: he has good armor and decent speed and damage and he can avoid any frontal attacks by enemies and his special does great damage he is effective against 80% of the enemies in the game.
4.Maximillion: His stats are really great and balanced, if used right his attack can pretty much wipe out most of enemies, how ever he is a bit unefective against fast enemies.
5.Rufus: He s slow but he can take a beating, and as soon as you use the special you pretty much already won, his range is great too as you dont have to be under the enemy to hit him and if you know enemy patterns well nothing should be a problem.
6.Sammy: Well hes overall very balanced and can take a beating; hes only downside is that you have to under the enemy to attack but hes speed is decent so it shouldnt be a problem also his special is very useful for the start level.
7.Violet: Yeah she used to suck but with the new exp system she kicks ass; all the fight is pretty much trying to get her special as it pretty much pulveryzes everything it hits, also if you use her with the "call fighter" rule she pretty much becomes the most powerful character of all (she took half of the last boss life bar in one turn with it :)).
8.Vanilla: I LOVE this guy, hes cool and very fast and i love his att speed, however his only FATAL downside is that he dies too fast, his armor is just WAY too weak even with his speed its hard not to get hit once, however hes one of my fav. characters of all, just wish he d had a bit more of armor.
9.Lovett: Shes not bad or anything shes just not as useful as the rest however her damage is indeed GREAT, the reason shes down here is cus i really never liked her much but if you know enemy patterns she can be one of your best characters.
10.Shadow: Well gotta say he really blows, hes speed is really great and his armor is better than vanilla, my problem with him is that his damage just sucks, its slighty stroger than vanillas but it shoots slower so he really sucks, hes the only character that is really useless, all of the rest are all well balanced and made.

As for the game I loved it since the begining, even with the whole insane dificulty, I just loved the character desings and the athmosphere it had, you could sense that this game had alot of love, effort and care put into it, everything from the characters and the plot is fun and nostalgic as it reminds me of the old cartoons everything its really polished in here I dont think it could be any better designed, well i really loved the game too bad its over my only thought is that the 2 new characters made the game WAY too easy lol.

like the new characters dude

insane

Well it was fun...

for a LONG time, but the time it took to make any progress was even LONGER...
When I got to stage 3 I tried it twice and then I gave up on continuing...
way too repetitive because of the so much criticized "broken (and slow) levelup system". I didn't even fight the third boss. (Maybe I'll play one last time later just to know how it was)
Other than that the game was very nice, the only bug I noticed was that the second boss took up two turns on the same turn (2 rules passed on during his turn), one for moving and the other for attacking.
One of the biggest laughs I had playing this was when I discovered I could go in between the second boss' projectiles when he does the circular attack... I was so used to fighting Behemoth from the first AND second levels that when I saw a similar attack I thought I had to do the same thing, it took me about... I think 8-10 fights to notice that. (and I thought I was so stupid not to have noticed it before)... Well, nice psichology there
As a tip: try to balance your game better next time

Great game!

After lurking NG for literally years, I made this acct to comment on this game. It's extremely awesome. I thought it was impossibly hard for the longest time, 'til I figured out the strategy. This is an unprecedented genre-mixup which I think unfortunately is going unappreciated because people didn't figure out how to play it.

GoldenTrix is beatable if you know how. All you need is the ability to survive one encounter-- even a 30 second encounter, in principle. The trick is to lure him with your weak characters while your strong character runs away to heal. He always pursues whoever's closest to him, and his moves are limited: 1 step cardinal directions or 2 steps diagonal. You can literally make him chase you in circles while your fighter heals. Then just attack (manipulate rules to get 30sec if you're going for a low level run), survive, flee, heal, repeat til he's dead. Best fighter is Rufus if you're skilled enough to dodge (Hint: GoldenTrix does the exact same attack routine every time). Rufus' special attack nukes anything it touches.

good game

Not badly at all but its hard
