Reviews for "Raider: Episode 1"

Thank you so much for making this

It's like megaman/bionic commando/caslvania. I would like a flashing light and scale down music cinema during a death scene. You know what i'm saying right? Great game though, love the character.

Fantastic

It is easy to become adept with the controls, so don't worry about the scheme too much. Being customizable is also a good bonus. I suspect that the controls are just a natural scapegoat for the game's challenging difficulty.

Which, by the way, captured the hardcore NES feel perfectly. I liked how a sign reminded you to be patient as the game is alot more fun when you are not blindly running through it.

While the game offers three different difficulty settings to grasp a larger audience, the game seems restricted to those who have had experience in intense platformers. I would think that someone used to free-running non-linear platformers would not feel very eased into the game and would develop a harsh perspective on it.

The boss battle was fun, I was glad to see him switch up his pattern as it got pretty stale halfway through.

I did have a bit of a bad run-in during the game. At the part right before colour blocks are introduced where the path branches off to the bottom and to the right, if you go to the right first you will be unable to return (which is needed to switch off the blocks). You end up being trapped between a tall wall in one room and a coloured block wall on the other.

Overall, very well done game. It is evident you worked hard on it and I'll be looking forward to the next installments.

Ok.

How to kill boss of first level:
{
DD, AA, DDD, RR, AA, DDD,
#mark_a
L, D, AA, DDD, A, R, D, AA, DDD, A,
go to mark_a 4 times
#mark_b
A, LL, A, L, A, A, R, A, RR, A, AA, AA, AA, DDDD, AA, DDD, LL,
go to mark_b 4 times
WIN!!11
}

Is this a skill? No.

Not too shabby

A pretty good sidescroller that remindes me of the old NES days. The gold trophies were near impossible to get but anything good is worth the effort. The simple design fit well and the music is great but not annoying. Not too much I'd change.

better next time...

its good...
but you can do better...
