Reviews for "Paper's edge"

Very good

I like this type of stop-motion.... great work!

stickbob123 responds:

Thanks and...BTW THIS IS THE LAST RESPONSE I AM POSTING UNTIL MONDAY SO IF SOMETHING IS REALLY IMPORTANT POST IT THEN!!!

Awesome!

Never seen a stop motion like this.
The erase marks were neat, kinda made it matrix-like. :p
A greater array of colors and making the stick figure a little bit bigger would help.

Great job!

stickbob123 responds:

Thanks for the suggestions and compliments :D

here we go

I'm going to be critical because I think stuff that has potential needs a little criticism to make it better.
you obviously put a big amount of time and effort into this and it shows. Your animation improved as the movie progressed and you had a good concept of direction and use of medium
The major problem however was that I didn't gain anything from watching that except "huh, that was neat". Stick men are easy to animate, but everyone just uses them in the same way (either being thrown around or for fighting).
I would like to see you incorporate some sort of story or intention for your film. Also, there was almost no character from your stick man. The 'I like green better" was cute, but made no sense in regards to what happened in your film. If he didn't like the pink stickies, than show that. Show him getting frustrated or trying to escape, etc.
One last thing, it doesn't hurt to speed up the actual frame rate of your animation, for example when your dude slide down the skate park ramp, it happened very slowly. Speeding things up in such situations make the animation look smoother and more realistic
Hope that you don't take this in the wrong way. 10 scores feel good but they don't press you to improve or try new things.
Looking forward to seeing more from you.

Im am so cool with that. You had some dang good suggestions (maybe he'll get tired with green in the 2nd) i also want to point out that there was a slight storyline, but sadly it made the file size 5 mb over what it had to be. I make a flipbook, its not good, i leave and walk out, the stick figure escapes. But i can also concur with the frame rate suggestion. Reviews like this will make #2 friggin amazing

Loved it.

This was really well made.
Wish I could have the patience for stopmotion.
Bravo.

stickbob123 responds:

Thanks vincent

excellent!

this is easily one of the best hidden treasures of newgrounds! i was greatly surprised to find that this wasn't just your everyday stickfight scene. your work is a badly need breath of fresh air into the whole "stick-figure" genre. congrats! i'll be looking forward to a sequel...

stickbob123 responds:

Over the period of 40 minutes I am almost sure that I will make a sequel because of reviews like this! (btw guys ... I'm going to sal mart soon so I won't be able to respond to every review) I'm also going away for the weekend, when I get back I'll be sure to scan for quality ones (like this!)
