Reviews for "Fear Unlimited Issue2"

2/5

This game is well, boring, the medals don't seem to work for me, maybe it's just my computer or this game, or maybe Newgrounds itself. if you just keep doing the same combo over and over you can pass levels with fying colors. Sometimes the controlls seem to give out, or seem to sensitive, I tried playing it on low quality and the game seemed to delay. I could honestly see this game being great! But it seems...rushed and not fully finished. And one of the bosses seemed to have 100 million health points.

The graphics are not to bad and the comics looked good. But this is just not the game for me.

Good luck!

I don't see what you guys are complaining about.=/

It's a game for hardcore people. Naturally, hardcore people find strategys first. =/
I myself had difficulty on the first level, but then I figured the basic pattern that these thing's follow, and quickly owned mission 1 and mission 2. O_o If you really do need help, I'll give you some prime tips for the first mission. Normal Demon = Just spam Down + D. That worked for me and I rammed them right up against a wall, were they stayed 'till they died from my slashing. =D Bomb Demon = I believe the shotgun/SMG combo worked well in Fear Unlimited Arena. Just rapidly hit S and Z so that you'll be shooting both guns. No reload time and it's rather good for knocking some demons back a screen. Actually, all the demons back. Not one touched me at that point. O_o Melee Demon = Same drill. Just spam shotgun/SMG and your good to go. They're invulnerable in melee. Got sliced 5 times, even with my spinning sword spam move. But when I lit up their arses, you'll notice they have less health than others. And for the second mission, INCREDIBLY EASY. Just go u[\p and slice her, and when she starts blocking, roll back and start a gun show down. Gotta be the SMG, else you'll get a few bulletholes in you. Just keep jamming S so thay you'll intercept the bullets, then jump over her. When SHE jumps up, do a Down + D and start spinning your sword on the ground again. When she shields, just repeat. If you want a less tricky method, just spam your spinning sword 'till she gets up to a wall. When she gets high enough, she'll double jump (she leaves behind an orange aura, like you do.) Roll back, but then run forward a bit. If you do it right, she'll try a similar crackdown attack to yours, but she'll do it if your not in range. When she misses, just spin sword her again 'till she shields, and repeat. Hopefully that'll help you guys out a bit so that you can start giving some real reviews. Now, on to the real submisson. =D
Playing the previous Fear Arena, and practically owning in it, I found that the game play mechanics were very similar, although some enemies were buffed. (ehemdual-sword demonehem) Still, they weren't that hard to take down once I found their strategy and quickly won. Combo's are still awesome, but very easy to acomplish. All I had to do was juggle a dude in the air by just pressing S with the Anima in midair, and I'd hit a full style gauge per demon. Controls are a bit more difficult to do, such as when I'm slicing my chosen demon into shishami but another comes up behind me. I'd like to roll away now at that point, but apparentley I have to finish the attack first before he'll move. And I'm usually mincemeat at that. Music choice did add well to the mood, but I would've prefered some newer tracks than the some from Fear Arena. Another problem I found was the controls. As simple as they seem, they really aren't that simple. When I want to pull of an Anima/shotgun combo, I keep tripping over the button placement and end up switching the Anima instead. D= The fact that it can only be letter keys doesn't help either unless I created another arrow key feature on the letters, Lol. But overall, it was good enough to keep me entertained for a while, and still as I'm going back to beat it later, Lol. But here's the main problem, length. I can own ANY demon with my freakin awesome swords, but when I'm forced to use my guns, it takes awhile. Don't get me wrong, I dont want overpowered guns to replace swords, but it took me at least a minute to bring down 3 Dual-Sword demons, and with my new gun too. D= I would've continued playing, but that was simply too time consuming that I had to quit for now. This is an action/shooter, I believe we'd like to be able to own some demons but still need to use skill to do it, yet also not spend a while killing one pair of demons when you could be killing dozens more in the same time, all because they're better at the swords than you. D= Either improve the guns or decrease the demons health, and I do believe it'll come out much better. Everything else is awesome, including the comic strips. =D

Hmmmmmmm

I am making hard games too. The problem with this one are:
- the controls are complicated
- the movements are stiff
- too much buttonmashing (too fast combos)
- I am a huge fan of beat em ups, but I think devil may cry is a quite bad beat em up
- enemy ai for default enemies is not fitting the gameplay style. They are always moving forward. They never wait or go backwards...
- no learning curve, because too complicated and fast (just for pressing the attack buttons, not the enemies(!))

- its lacking fun. Partially I don´t know exactly why. Could be the reason for the problems mentioned above. Also I guess, the hit animations are not good. Too cheap. That was better in the older versions of the game, were body parts fell off. I also think the stereo type sword fight is boring. The movents are much too fast, the sword is made of paper and that is retarded. Also the sword is only moving on the x,y axis as far as I could see. Too cheap.

- my last point is better character design. Do you got a drawing tablett? I saved all my money for a drawing screen, and it INCREDIBLY increased my abilities for digital drawing. It works even better with flash as with photoshop (<- shitty program anyways, only useful for print). Also you can do things you cant do with mouse and you are much faster. You also get your thoughts much more free.

Did you had people to test play it? Giving you tips what to improve? Would be useful for such a big game...

WTH

I barely finished level 1 and i didnt had enoguht cold to buy alot of upgrades and on level two against the girl.In the begging she shoots me and kills me i die like for 4 sec.Im giving you 5 only for teh ng medals and the nicely draw comics.

Umm...This turned into mash D and up arrow at the same time until the enemy is dead. Then shoot.
