Reviews for "Get Off My Planet"

power

The power failiure is VERY annoying, after a while u finaly have some nice defence going on, and than suddenly power failiure. DEAD!

also the food system is bugging me, farms take up too much space.

Very addictive, but very tricky.

I can't give this any less than a nine, since I've been playing it for ages now, even though it has kicked my ass every time. The difficulty is a little too steep, I think, and yet the game is so much fun to play, I can't seem to care about that little problem enough to stop!

I think the one thing that would help the most would be if you left the city expansion down to the player. You can choose to upgrade your city, for a price, but I don't see the point when it upgrades itself every so many waves of enemies anyway. If you left that to us, so we could better manage the number of farms required and such, it'd be that much better a game for it.

Possibly bring down the cost of the defence towers too, as the only options I seemed to have were cheap towers that fell behind in power all too quickly, or expensive towers that held off the enemy for a long time but are so pricey I couldn't afford enough to keep coverage up.

Anyway, for the benefit of my fellow players for what it's worth, my best effort was around 100,000 points, building several power plants and mines and using double laser turrets. Power hungry as hell, but badass.

To end on a positive, I never experienced any of the bugs mentioned in previous reviews. Overall a really good fun game, very addictive. I will find a way to beat it eventually!

Good game, great graphics BUT buggy and quite hard

Gameplay: The gameplay was good. It was quite funny and the menus were easy to use. I liked reading the enemies message and I liked being able to customise myself, the planet and the enemy.

Graphics: The graphics were great, the cartoony feel to it seemed to fit the theme of the game. I really enjoyed seeing the city expand, a lesser game may have skipped that small graphical detail.

Balance: Some of the games balance was good, I think how you build up the base and defence was pretty good. If you focus on cashflow at the start you have enough money to build up your base. However I believe the enemy got too strong too fast. Especially when they start targetting your buildings (and turrets?). The research seems to be overpriced too.

Bugs: There were heaps and heaps of bugs.

- When you click try again the game doesn't seem to work properly, you get less money or you can't click properly. (or at least I did)

- I was given infinite money at one point which ruined the game for me.

- The turrets seem to get drained of power on a lag - I'm not sure if you meant for this to happen or not but it did, and it meant that you'd usually lose power after all the enemy ships were destroyed.

- I sold one of those super towers (with the little ships) however my count stayed the same so I could only build 3.

Because of these bugs it makes me not want to play properly again, just because I don't want to spend 20 minutes playing and then for it to bug out.

It is a very good game, but it needs more play testing and the bugs really need fixing.

The game has potential

But difficulty rises too fast, with the lack of money and faulty food system (as one has mentioned). So far, that's among the problems noted.

nice idea

but i find it fustrating and the screen is too small, make screen bigger and get rid of the drop down building menu, make it part of the top bar with everything there at your figure tips but of course with some things faded cos they are locked. it is slightly too complex, simplify, perhaps get rid of the some the things like the terra forming and just make it so the planet does it anyway as you build stuff, start with city and a farm and power station straight away.
too many things to think of.
