Reviews for "Dodgeman 2!"

Bleh.

This game is a perfect example on how visual story telling can allow a game to recycle the same concept over and over again. Sadly visual story telling doesn't equal progressive game play. I liked the moon walk and small visual innovations but in the end this game lacked substance and was founded on stale game play system that didn't intrigue or stimulate my interest much at all.

Still needs work

When you make a dodge game, you need to make precise collisions. Too many times, I lost a life even though the obstacle was far away from me.

Lol

Sorry, but the final level is too hard.
And i don't really enjoy playing again and again and again the last boss.
So i give you 4

Holmfry responds:

Try harder! :P

You could always just quit to keep your score and get the bad ending, it's up to you - basically the final level just decides which ending you get, that's why it's so hard.

Did you like the rest of the game? 4 seems harsh just because the bonus level is too hard.

Thanks for playing, and BTW you should be commended for getting to the end, good job! :)

Try again

Sorry, but your game goes from boring to ridiculous in one level. More often than not there is an impossible to dodge grouping in the spaceship level due to limited space. The biggest problem is your horrible, horrible hitboxes. From playing I can only gather that they are rectangles and the shapes of your objects didn't matter at all. I could forgive this if your entire game wasn't about dodging said items, but it is and the invisible corner of an object's square hitting my invisible square's corner is very irritating. If you cannot figure out shaped hitboxes at least draw a small outline around the perimeter of the hitboxes to avoid frustration. another problem is the animated objects they wobble and wiggle and you really can't tell where they can hit you at any given moment, sure the jiggling aliens are cute but I need to know where the hitbox is and if it changes size with them. Lastly I absolutely hated walking over an object that was below my feet and getting hit by it.

On the plus side the looks and sound of the game were good. but those are the two least important aspects of a game.

Holmfry responds:

There are no collision boxes in this game, it's pixel by pixel. I think the thing is that many games give players a little lenience, or overlap, between the enemy sprites and your character before you actually get hit and I didn't in this game. If one pixel of the enemy touches one pixel of you, you get hit. Sometimes I guess this makes it feel like something didn't hit you when it actually did.

It is something I will keep in mind for the next installment.

sorry but

it just wasnt fun., alll i did was run back and forth
i kno thats the point but its not fun
i wouldnt recommend this game because i lost intereest VERY fast
make something else you can do, like throw shit at ninja rabbits (i played lvls 1 and 2)
