Reviews for "Aqua Turret"

Not Bad

First the Thing i did not like at all:
1. You have to use the best weapons that are unlocked; this causes a problem because they play completly different. The Homing missles are good, because you can fire a long range and kill the suicide boats; but after level 15 you have to use the blazer (aka Flamethrower) because the boats get stronger than the homing missles do. So if you like to play with the homing you just can do until level 15; at this point it gets nearly impossible; and I just do not like playing with the flamethrower.
2. You just can upgrade the weapons in strengh; look at different defens-games. If you create a 2nd part please add upgrades in Cooldown, rate of fire, capacity etc.
3.Maybe something that you see how long this wave is going to be would be useful.
4. I know you cant really add a story but kind of a cut scene at the beginnig would be very nice and would give you some extra stars from me.
(Really can imagine the tankman loading this big weopon)
5. Maybe more enemies would be fine. Just add Helicopters or something.

I really liked the game and if you change a few things, you get a better score next time. Looking foreward for Aqua Turret 2.

I've expected mroe.

I'm starting this review with a list of bad points. So prepare:
1. Overall. The whole game is too bland, you keep fighting the same ships and stuff. If you want to create the most awesome game ever, you must work on more enemies, weapons, power-ups, appearence and random events.

2. Weapons. The guns are the weirdest ones I've ever seen. You need to fire in the strangest angles to hit the smaller ones, PLUS they are very innacurate. Look at other tower defence games and you'll see that the angle of the guns is determined by the position of the mouse.

3. Power-ups. Where are the defensive powerups? Stuff like shielding and close-range turrets so you won't be killed completely.

4. Defence. You aren't defended by any sort of AA turret, if 2 aircraft carriers are attacking you, you'll have a 90 percent chance that they'll launch airplanes. If they keep bombing you, you're wasted in no-time.

5. Individual weapons. The first three guns were pretty good. But the blaze and clusterbomb just plain sucked. The blaze is some sort of close range flamethrower wich drops your accuracy to zero when fired in a fast rate. I must admit, the cluster bomb kinda amused me when used in a good, steady pace.

6. Special defence. You need some sort of protection from the subs and airplanes, just like the other guys have said, it's neccesary.

7. Any other thing. Nope.

Not bad

I think the game is all right. The health upgrade is a good idea, but it is kind of pointless to have more health when your enemies can do alot more damage. I think you should be able to have a defence upgrade to resist more damgae so it can even out the playing field, if you happen to upgrade it enough. Having specials is a good idea too. I for one, agree with djudy on things in the game and for the sequel game. For the next sequel I think you should be able to have defence upgrade, AA cpabilities, water mines and depth charges to hit the subsmarines b4 they have a chance to strike or something like that.

Good game.....

Its a fine game, And after you get the heat seeker misile, those smal suicide ships get easier to deal with....
But you only get 9 because therer is no change in gameplay, just shoot shoot and shot at ships attacking you from all sides, no objektive other than stay allive...
And for those that dosnt understand the spacebar weapen, you are suposed to press spacebar until the x is over an enemy, THEN you relese spacebar and the weapen fires and destroy the ship (if you hit, and it is a smal ship)

myeh.

As point-and-click tower defense games go, it was pretty bland. first the good:

Graphic wise the game was pretty competent, but not anything flashy. As is, your style is only functional , not beautiful. Bot are important, but functionality is better if you can only do one. Also, Cudo's on your concept of making the primary weapon a charge-type deal, as well as having a mouse-wielded weapon, original much. the controls were very good, and my computer wasn't bogged down too badly.

Now the bad: Unfortunately Te game does noting to wow you. its easy to play, fun and upgrades and different weapons are all very well and good, but there's just a couple concepts that bother me.

1. The placement of your machine gun makes it almost useless against smaller craft as you have to aim only sort of in their direction. Once you get the heat seekers its a different story, but starting out is annoying. Try not to place them too far apart and this should no longer be a problem.

2. Most defence games give you the option to buy a NPCT (Non-Player Con trolled tower) This can be anything from an extra turret to shoot things with to special units and the like. For you I recommend letting the player buy flak cannons for airplanes, or perhaps a friendly boat or sub, maybe even a couple of under water mines. Just a thought.

3. Your primary gun overheats, to long if at all. Master chiefs battle rifle does not overheat, Neither does Megatrons blaster, and neither should your cannon. Its your primary weapon, and the fact that we have to charge it makes it only more annoying when we have to wait 3 seconds to shoot it again when we needed it .5 seconds ago. If your trying to simulate reloading, try giving us clips with 3-5 shots (maybe an upgrade to hold more bullets?). If your worried that makes the game to easy, that brings me to point four.

4. Difficulty levels, you don't have them. Try to make it challenging to get to level fifteen, rather than tedious. or maybe let the casual gamer make it to level 30 or whatever to see all the different guns, and speaking of difference...

5. Different bad guys. You have maybe 2-3 small ones, 2 medium types, and one large mother-effer. Great, but to keep things interesting try adding bunches of bad guys; too many boats, make sea monsters; tired of the fish, make planes, see where I'm going. For these kind of games to stay engaging the game has to constantly change, bringing us to to point sixus.

6. Change your field. I got tired of the same boring water-scape. make an occasional reef or sand bar or island or something.

7. You may have noticed some comments about your weapons turning to crap the higher you level up. YOUR GUNS SHOULD BE EQUAL OR MORE POWERFUL THAN YOUR FOE. its a simple rule to follow. If I'm fighting level 25 battle ships, I need a freakin super-doom laser/giant hammer thing, not a crappy gun that isn't accurate, or useful.

It really is an alright game, and I know I'm asking for quite a lot here but until you can pull of all of this and make it look good, only then will this game truly be excellent
