That's true. I don't consider it a problem, to be honest. All the other things people have complained about were legitimate issues, but the ability to keep continuing and trying to beat one more level? I don't consider that a flaw.

I guess I have bad taste...
because I loved it! First and foremost, I love the simplicity of the controls! You're right when you say that the game shines during the boss fights--do those things ever die?!--and the visuals are great! However, the lack of power ups and lack of variety in enemies really do take away from how great this game could be. BUT THAT DOESN'T CHANGE THE FACT THAT I LOVE IT!
It isn't necessarily difficult, but it isn't frustratingly hard either. I love the constant rapid fire! I'd suggest adding the classic power ups: muti-fire, bombs, extra lives, etc. Maybe make the life of your ship a little less robust as a trade-off.
Story line be damned, a good shooter doesn't need one. Please, add to this or make an awesome sequel--I can see it now: "Linear Shooter 2: Nonlinear Shooter."
It's a good game, it just feels unfinished. It just needs to be polished, that's all.

Yes, it was linear, but who says that's a bad thing? All the old arcade games were like this, and this is really fun! The gameplay was solid like an old shooter and the explosions were cool al well. 10/10 from me!

Nice! It's basic, but it's fun. Although my hand nearly fell off trying to kill the first boss. XD Very addictoive, and although the music is repetitive, it's not annoying. Congrats on making such a good game, and good luck! =3
