I don't visit newgrounds as often anymore but...

when I do I expect the animations and games on the front page to be brand-new and of the highest quality. This was a good quality game, however, it lacked any real in-depth originality.

I know I can't just say think of something new and it'll happen, but this particular style of game (asteroids) has been done time and time again. The reason, however that I give an 8/10 is because a clear attempt was made to vary the gameplay, the ideas of power ups, shields and one not as predictable a multiplier.

Although it was a high quality game, it was far from original, I did enjoy playing it because the graphics were smooth and it was overtly challenging even if I didn't bother finishing it. 8/10 and just as a recommendation if you do remake the asteroid genre for whichever time it is, keep the power-ups, shields, multipliers and then add MORE!!!! Just like raiden, perhaps different types of weapon upgrades or other things I've seen in similar asteroid games ship upgrades.

Decent game, changed my mind at the very end of this review and decided to give it a 7, if I rant so much about originality and still give it an 8 what kind of reviewer am I?

(7 is still a respectable score, this game was quality and would've taken a lot of skill to make, I'm not undermining your ability as a flash artist)

heres why its a seven

i dont like it when reviewers give games a 10 without justification, i agree a good game but not a ten and there are a few reasons why, the game just is too simple and doesnt really change at all, the emenys dont really change, though they do look good so i mean its not all bad hense the seven it just needs to be tinkerd and developed a bit.
It is rather simple as i said before, this does kind of go hand in hand with the enemy's really staying the same but i just wanted to highlight the point a bit, again it is fun though, but i mean not perfection fun, so with a little adaption and development it coul dbe a really wicked game.
I dont wanna really go on too much more, but im just trying to show why reviews shouldnt just run and jump on the "oh my god im giving this a ten" band wagon without really thinking about it.

Anyway its simple and fun game to play.
