Reviews for "Mario vs. Santa"

Oldskoolkammy Review.

---GRAPHICS---
Well, the entire episode wasn't drawn that well. I would suggest art classes, maybe.

---AUDIO---
Epic. Nuff said.

---HUMOR---
I don't see it in any of this, except the elf getting run over. Rudolph was my fav reindeer, too.

---VIOLENCE---
Epic battle between two hippos. What more could you want?

---POSSIBLE IMPROVEMENTS---
Possibly the beginning of a decent series. As I mentioned before, you should sharpen your drawing skills, and add some humor.

---OVERALL---
Nice start for your career as an animator. This movie wasn't really good, but it definitely wasn't that bad either, because I've seen way worse [Kitty Krew]. Can't wait for your next production. 6/10 and voted 3.

Gustavos responds:

That's cool.

I'm trying to make good progress with being a better artist, but I've had little luck. I'm trying to learn new techniques, but I can't figure out any. I rushed this movie a lot because I wanted it out before Christmas and lazyness wasn't helping. I'm working harder on my next movie right now. I'm confident it will be much better than this.

Thanks for good comments and constructive criticism.

good

this was good not the best i have seen though. I liked your idea and concept but,i would use some sprites. still its tallented

Gustavos responds:

Thanks, but I'm not a spritist and I probably never will be

Nice history, bad visuals

The history was funny, but your visuals need some work. Starting with the letter font, it's very difficult to use that font and don't make the movie look bad. Also I didn't like the white font over back ground that your first two screens have.

In the movie itself, you shouldn't give clues at what does your images mean (I talk about the "It's a moon here"), your visual must be enough for the viewer to understand that (make it a little smaller and in a upper corner and it'll be OK)

About the art style, be consistent in the whole movie at the beginning Santa looked was really badly drawn (I suppose you wanted to show it's dark, but could have used the later model and use darker colors) while later it was better (but not good for my taste).

Anyway try to keep going. It's only your first flash.

Gustavos responds:

I understand, I'll get better. My art skills will be the things I wil try to improve the most

A promising begining

One thing I would change if I were you is start the music sooner, just having text on the screen with nothing else is a little boring. Hope to see great things from ya.

Gustavos responds:

Yeah, I know. It's just how it ends so well and it gets more suspenseful when Santa actually makes it to Mario's world. What does jmantyk mean?

Gustavos responds:
