Reviews for "Raptek Arena Reloaded"

good

I liked the art and gameplay, but to me it just wasn't really fun. I'll still give a 5/5 =D

Kelemas responds:

Then, thanks for being honest and recognizing the hard work!
Kudos to you!

So much to improve

nice start though, the game isn't very comfortable and not much playable.
I can see you put much effort in it but still something is missing, too many messed up things on the screen, I'll be waiting for your next version (if there will be one).

Kelemas responds:

A new version is already uplaoded, and is simply waiting NG staff approval.
In the meanwhile you can play the game here (if you want!): http://www.circolofantasy.com/arena
There, I've put up a page dedicated to the game, where you can always find the latest version (without waiting for NG staff approval) and where you'll find 4 videos that show a suggestion on how to pass the first levels. Check them out if you want: I show that it is possible to end the first 3 levels even without using drops!!! :-)
Thank you for the review!

Fun game but begging for more

Really enjoyed the game, though I admit it was a little frustrating to begin with, it took a few times before I actually made it out of the 2nd level :P
Maybe it's just my own suckage but couldnt do it with warrior or cleric, even with shield I always seemed to get trashed, used Archer mainly. A few things I would love to see:
More shopping options, weapons armor and maybe accesories would add a lot of depth to play after the first few levels. maybe add some potions or the like to the list as well, I think the ability to buy some small health potions wouldnt make the game much easier and might really help in those tense moments when your begging for a health potion to drop and instead get 5 stregnth potions in a row :P Also if you add a significant amount of items to the store maybe rework how money is earned and give a bonus if they have enthusiasim higher, more pay for more entertainment kind of idea.
Felt the special abilities weren't all that great (actually havent tried the wizards now that I think about it) maybe increase refresh time but increase the ability, like have the archer shoot more arrows, or the warrior do a nice area effect swing, something that might work better in a pinch but offset by the longer time.
Little more benefit from leveling up, with the exception of HP and Cha I felt some stats raised a little slow, requiring many levels gained to feel a real difference, some like attack power felt like if 1 arrow didnt kill them 2 would, and putting a couple levels worth of points into attack strength didnt change that, would be another good reason to add more weapons, allowing your base strength to be modified with new weapons (that way you dont increase the damage of low end weapons as quickly as high end more expensive weapons would)
All in all it was a lot of fun but I really felt the entire time that more diversity and such could really increase both the fun I had playing and the time I would invest into it.

Kelemas responds:

Thank you for the well pondered review.
Some od the things you suggest are indeed feasible (more objects: yes. Potions: it's hard to implement) and others are already in the to-do list (money per stage and public enthusiasm bonus)
Some stats grow slowly, but they are calibrated to the actual monster power... chagning them will require changing all the monsters... and I think that will be posticipated :)
Anyway, some changes are more evident with some classes: attack strength for melee characters and attack speed for ranged ones. If you try it you'll see that an increase of 0.2 really means the difference... if put in the right place! :)

good

i finished it twice... went for a hat trick but there werent any hp potions dropped and it was a saveless game.

make the drops less randomized. only with good drops you can defeat this game

Kelemas responds:

Yeah, saveless game are immune to the bug discovered by some of the players.
(by the way: thanks to everybody... as soon as you'll see version 1.6.5 on the lower left corner, you'll be sure you can save and load without worries - but old saves won't work)
As for the drops... it's true, they are really random: it's only their power that increases with the stages. I thought this would add some variety to the game, but it appears not so :)
Anyway, when you master the controls well it is easier to not count on drops...

Thank you for the review!

wahhh.....

now my life sucks... i couldn't fight the second boss... the entire thing froze up and i couldn't even close the window. i was using a wizard and i have the latest version of flash player. i hope that helps you.

Kelemas responds:

That issue is now addressed. I've uploaded the new version some hours ago and is waiting NG staff approval.
It was due to savegame procedure that screwed things up.
Unfortunately your old save won't work, but at least you will be able to save and reload as many times as you want.
Thank you for the help
