Reviews for "DevilSlayer V-1"

JazLyte responds:

Don't worry, this episode was just the bait haha, can't tell everything yet.

CLICHE

Ok first of all, graphics were ok. The only thing I thought was weird are the backgrounds. The characters didn't seem to fit with them, different coloring I think ? That, and the 3d-ish sequence was really off.

The voice acting was... Really bad. And the script ? Come on, the characters were so cliche it hurt. "Leave some for me, negro" Would someone even say that ?

Plus, that guy's fighting a giant monster with a sword before using his gun, which by the way shoots about 200 000 bullets per second. Then his "hip" friends join him and one of them shoots fire... Does it remind anyone of some other show ? And the point about half-demons, half-angels... That's been done a couple hundred times before.

Summary: Pretty good graphics, though you lack style. voice acting was bad, as the sound effects were. Storyline? Bad, really bad. You should work on originality instead of trying to make everything look cool and badass.

I've seen really ugly flashes with crazy-ass scenarios that were way better.

Ya' know lol, I read this review a few months ago and it pissed me off, so I ignored it, but now that I read it, I'm actually laughing. Chock full of cliche' it is, however I get many compliments on me and my friends' voice acting, and yes, "Save me some negro" was on purpose, I wanted him to say something completely dumb and akward, because life is like that.

Regardless, you're right. It does lack style, and I was covering up a weak backbone with pretty pictures. I've worked very hard on my story-writing skills as well as animation though and I hope you're willing to give my stuff a second chance. Thanks for being honest.

RidiculoslyAwesome

You made a great job pal! you can be proud of yurself after this, good storyline, animations all the things, just one bit of advice, don't use the sounds from DBZ for the fighting scenes, create your own-it'll be more professional and you could say "I made it all myself Dude!"- But in an overall rating you got: 10/10 5/5 and 100 from 10
GOOD JOB!!!

JazLyte responds:

Thanks! It crossed my mind how cheesy some of the effects were while other explosions and stuff were bough from a Sony pro package, but I'll work on it.

good!

wow, the storyline was really thought out and it was a quality movie, 5/5

JazLyte responds:

Thanks!

Pretty good mate.

I liked it pretty well mate. Its got a decent story, though in my opinion, the characters need a bit of background. Art was great in some areas, some of the animated pieces seemed a bit rushed. the animating itself was decent, though it could use a bit of cleaning up. I don't know what you use so I won't give any tips. overall, good work.

JazLyte responds:

Thanks. I'd love to give more info, but what's there left to leave people curious about the next one?
