Reviews for "String Avoider 2"

okay .... but

to be honest its a good game but this kind of game has been made so many times it really is quite a decent game but im just getting bored because theres basiclly nothing new here for me to get into or be challanged by

Did you actually try playing this game?

The clipping was atrocious. My string would get killed off with easliy 6-7 pixels on either side -- which is about all you get by stringing it through a 1-block-wide tunnel. Once the string passed right through a pair of scissors without triggering it at all. The clipping isues are not a graphic quality problem; I tried it on all three quality settings and still got killed by the empty space around walls.

On a less hostile note, the change of movement controls from the last one was really awkward. The drag-scroll thing just felt choppy and jerky. It wasn't too bad with the slow-mo on, but obviously your ability to do that is limited.

I did actually like the level design, and eliminating the lives from the first SA was a very good move. Unfortunately, the improvements in those areas just got overshadowed by the frustration of getting killed by invisible 6-pixel-wide force fields around every wall I came across.

Not hard at all

The only levels that were remotely difficult were the very last couple. I never had to use any of the slowdown stuff, and why didn't you just make the string small from the start? With the exception of maybe one or two levels, EVERY SINGLE level had the string cutter right at the beginning. So, what's the point of making it a power-up if it's on every single level and very easy to obtain? The last one in this series was much more entertaining and challenging. Very disappointing. And then when you win, bam. Right back to the title screen. There wasn't even a "you win" message. What's that all about? Bleh.

...

Absolutely horrible.

The fact that you could only move your mouse in the direction you wanted instead of actually moving the mouse sucked. Not to mention the insane difficulty after just four levels. I quit after less than two minutes.

Scrolling sucks

Whoever told you that that scrolling engine thing was a good idea was not your friend. I enjoyed the other string avoider games but this was annoying.
