Reviews for "AUTOMATON Prt 1"

i got stuck cuz there was nowhere to click!

why is there never anywhere to click!!!! the items are to small and you cant see them!!! grrrrr!!!

littleNorwegians responds:

The clickable areas are as big (Sometimes bigger) then the item you want to click. If you get stuck just press TAB or see the walkthrough.

Thanks for your review
Have a nice day

Interesting but Simple

I loved the story, the graphics were okay - not brilliant, but better than a lot I have seen of late - but the puzzles were very simple. Although I couldn't be bothered with the alphabet one and just guessed it, and succeeded.

I think you need to really work on the puzzle side of things, make complex, interesting, difficult puzzles. Put things in rooms that will highlight with tab but won't do anything to help, as well, because I know a few people who tab-cheat at this variety of game.

I will play the sequel even if you don't improve, because I love this sort of game, but it won't get a better score unless it gets better.

<3 Good luck with your next one!

I can see your points, but the interesting thing is that many people say otherwise. It's hard to please all the audiences and I must admit that im not aiming for perfection for I am quite new to flash game making in general. Take my games as... The first ones. Automaton will be my first series and will therefore be far from perfect, atleast for everyone. But I do believe in improvment so i'll continue to make these games in hopes of, well, getting better.

Thanks for your review.

Too Linear

Not a bad overall concept, if a bit slow, but Linear puzzle games rarely have much replay value. Perhaps in the future you might have several different manners of completing a puzzle, instead of your audience having to follow a dictated course of action. It becomes more puzzle and less "guess what the author wants you to do."

A bit short, and a bit convoluted as to the solutions to the problems. Really I just pressed tab until I found the right solutions.

You did a good job

But I want to offer you a constructive review.

Good: The graphics, sound, and style were great. Very original, and has a very intriguing storyline (which actually is really the only thing that will hook me enough to play Part 2).

Bad: I'm not sure you can really call this (or Part 0) a real GAME. I mean, the user is left no freedom at all to interact with the environment (hence my reason for giving it a 1) - you are forced to click on things in a certain order. Also, the user is told what to do every step of the way by the scientist. So I honestly can't call this a game - it's just a point and click movie.

To improve on the next one, I would say make the scientist get conked on the head by something and forget how everything works, and that way the user has to figure everything out and lead the scientist around instead of vice-versa. Nice game, nice efforts, but I think if you make these improvements you'll see a lot more support by NG'ers.

Thanks for reading this!

littleNorwegians responds:

Well you see dr-douche, this is a point and click game. I can't give alternate ways because the game would be ENORMOUS!
And the scientist only gives you hints.
Some may find the game hard. Others don't.
You won't always have the professor i promise you that.

I thank your review but keep in mind some people find this hard and others don't.

Have a nice day
