Reviews for "DotVille deluxe"

I'm dotty for Dotsville

It was quite a fun game. The interface was quick and easy to use, and there's always a perverse satisfaction in building an empire of death from the ground up. If I had any problem with the game, it would be the rock/paper type gameplay for the finale, but even then, that was only because I kept clicking 'rock' until I'd beat the squares through chance and attrition.
Nice work!

oh yeah, the final battle kept me awake for nights! In the beginning I planned to make it more like North&South, but I kinda failed and it did't really fit into the whole game. So I decided to abstract it...

good but...

Definitly needs some work, the random events constantly happen for -5 happiness during the first two turns, unless you lower taxes massively and raise food consumption, you are doomed after the second turn.

Just like any other economics game

I have played many versions of something quite like this, such as Age of Castles. However, unlike all those other economics games, this was probably more straight-foward than those other ones.

What I would have liked to see was a positive random event instead of "You lose dots", "Your dots become unhappy", etc. Also, there's an oversight in your programming. When I had 2000 soldiers and I decided to get rid of 1000, the entire army on the village screen disappeared!

All in all, it's decent and playable.

Game is great.

This game is great. The interaction in this game is great. I think there should be a SquareVille so we get to play from both the dots and the squares

finefin responds:

heehee, nice idea ;)

after doing everything "right", i got beaten by rock paper scissors
now i'd like to kick your *** real hard!

but the game - real good work, original style.
