Reviews for "The Ambridge Mansion-Day2"

I love you man!

once again, the scariest shit i seen on newgrounds so far! its has about the same value as the first one. please dont wait till next halloween to get the next one done!

Scary as heck

I've been waiting for this installment forever. Ever since the first one came out I've been just WAITING for it.

The atmosphere was creepy again and the intro was very good again. The puzzle was creepy as well though a bit short.

The random deaths creeped me out completely and got annoying after the one in the living room... The 'x' button was too close to the death guy T.T;;

One last thing of note were the colors on the clock, it was hard to tell what color was what... at least it was for me when I looked for 'yellow'.

All in all this was a great game that scared the hell out of me. Thumbs waaaaay up.

hmmm...

Alright. It was a nice addition to the story, but it was too short. Too short for the amount of time I waited fo this.
I was on the edge of my seat, waiting to be freaked out like the first day. But it really didn't deliver. You have the atmosphere down perfect, but day one had more images that just poped up and left, which made me jump the most, whereas now there's just shadows that kill you. Some of the creatures were creepy, (like the twitchy little furball in the clock room) and the cutscene after you get the key was kinda freaky, but i guess i didn't feel it in this one as much as i was hoping.

But i like how you still have the diaries. Am I wrong in thinking that this particular diary author is from the future? I can't remeber the time period Silas is in. But both diaries seemed to have some similarities, but this one, as i said, was much shorter. The opening menu with the shot of the mansion in the first one i think should be a constant throughout the series, as it really had me wondering if i should scare myself by playing it the first time 'round.

Oh, and i think I see where you're going with the Raven. The dreams show the last days, and i'm betting the Raven has a big part in the story, as it seems to be the only living thing besides Silas in the house (if you don't count the creatures as actually "living"). ;)

Don't get me wrong, I love this whole thing and i can't wait for the whole story to unravel, but make sure it makes me think and scares me so bad my children's children will wet themselves with sheer terror. LOL.

Oh, btw, is there a cutscene after you solve the clock puzzle? If so I havn't found it. And when I died the first time around, the coin and matches dissappeared from my inventory. Also, after I died, i couldn't find the axe or wax cube (when I closed out and re-started, I found them right away, like they weren't even there the first time). I found the tonges before my gruesome death, and those somehow stayed in my inventory. Wondering if it's a glitch or not.

phew... Can't wait for more, man.

!

Hi!
I'm glad you finished Day 2. But if you continue the way like this, we're gonna have long beard at the end :P . This is now a real review 'cos I started to play it at 23:29 (GMT+1, Hungary). The screen was so small and I had to lean close to the monitor, I was affraid of screamer screen or something. When I entered the first room (where we stert) my whole body was shiwering with fear and memories of the first day. Maybe the game is not that scary, but I l can feel the fear.
Please be faster with the continuation, I'm looking forward to it!

I guess I might have made the screen too small. It's pretty average by flash standards, but maybe too low. I reduced the size because I didn't want the gradients slowing it down.

Wow so great

I like when that black horse object appears out of the wall and the message one gets from it:" I don't even want to know", that I found amusing lol.
Well, I played this last night in the dark mostly, with headphones on. Let me tell you this: When the random sound of the glass shattering came on, I jumped out of my chair and threw the headphones off. You scared the hell out of me.
I got really excited when I was looking through the grey section of flash submissions last night to see Day 2. I've been waiting :)

There were some problems though. I couldn't get the end cutscene either. I got all the journals, basically checked every painting twice to see the numbers then again to get the colors, and all that happens with the clock is it ticks for a few moment. After that I waited for 5 minutes, nothing happened. So, I'm not sure if its a little code issue or I failed to go to a specific room. Also, I had died at one point and noticed I lost the matches and coin. When searching for the axe, I noticed it was gone. Same for the wax box. When I did a complete restart, everything worked again.

I eagerly look forward to the following days :)

It says specifically in the walkthrough "turn the clock hands to 4, then 1, then 2, then 3" If you hear the clock chime you will know you solved that part of the puzzle. You ALSO have to set the right colors. Do that and you'll get a "to be continued" screen.
