For a first attempt that was EXTREMELY good! I have to admit that I too also umm...almost tried to scratch the little guy off my screen as he was first diving.. that strikes me as funny.
Anyways. All in all, a good submission. I applaud you and throq all 5.34 votes under my command into a big fat FIVE to protect this one :)
A little long.
I originally decided to watch this because I have quite an extensive knowledge on Densha Otoko. I have to admit, I can hear the inspiration in the song, but the movie itself was... beautiful to look at, but a little long, and a little boring.
as a whole, it's an artistic peice and it's quite nice.
i almost liked it.
it was ok, there was somethin i liked about it, but i'm not sure what. maybe it's cos i'm a fan of japanese style animation which was very obvious in ur flash.

i did not like this
the one part when the lyrics clashed in with the song was bad. i mean, you have something goin for you and i can see why others like it but i can't get in to it. i can't see how this can become a series becaus it seems there is not much to work with. good luck with that.

Yeah, you were kidding about the "most influential piece in newgrounds history" right? The animation was good but not the best I have ever seen. My ears bleed from the music. The "story" was just too... sappy for my tastes.
