Reviews for "Nimian Hunter"

its ok, but two minutes playing it i beat it,

some times good controls and a more complicated story line are better than haveing "3d"ish graphics, really if its controls and story where addicting and fun i would hardly care if it had the grapics worse than the first mario game as long as i could tell the difference between me and the bad guys, i knew it was a trap even before the Chrystal flyer part .

.............

weeeeeird

you had me with the story lost me with the game

ok well i gotta say the story seemed interesting but the game itself ...sucked i thought. There was nothing to do u just spent ages riding through the same scenery befor e u got to click on something once then ride back through the same scenery. Sorry buddy if you had just ut as much effort into the game as you had making the graphics you could have had something special.

popopt responds:

That's OK:) FUN is an aspect of game making i have to work on just like any other part. Every person who says "it needs to be more fun" is another voice encouraging me to work harder in that department with my next game so i appreciate it!

Waste of time and effort

This game is both a waste of the player's time and your (the creator of the game) effort. First off, it doesn't include instructions on what to do, so I first aimlessly stumbled across the land on the stupid horse. Next, after seeing the green things, it was way too easy to get them to the demon. If the rope snapped, just press the mouse again and it was there once more. Wow. Such a challenge.

The real challenge in this game is staying awake. Your horse goes a set speed that is in-between slow and really slow. There's no way to make it either stop or go faster, so you're not really that much in control of its actions, even less so than a traditional on-rails game like for example Star Fox. There is a critter much later in the game that does have a speed boost, but it's only useful for capturing the end creature, so it doesn't play much of a role, and by the time you get to that critter, you're just hoping the game will end.

The music is repetitive, but even more so is the horse's gallop. No variety in the sounds makes this game horrible. The creatures don't even protest that they've been caught, or even fight back.

The gameplay is what really suffers. The game has good graphics, but the gameplay isn't here. Controlling the horse is alright except that there should be some sort of autopilot mode or something to get to a target because going in a straight line for a minute or two is not something a game should make you do. There aren't even any distractions along the way, like the rupee quests in The Wind Waker.

I couldn't bear to play this game again to get to the alternate ending, I fed him the crystal thing and then saw the "twist". And you can click on his head thing, but I clicked about 300 times and nothing happened, so in desparation I tried killing myself by making the horse plow into the demon's leg and finally the relief of credits.

My question is WHY IS THIS GAME SO BAD?! The people who made it OBVIOUSLY have talent, so why did they not see that the galloping noise is too repetitive, that the capturing task is too easy, that a lack of speed to the objectives kills their game? I don't know. In testing their game, I would have thought they would have seen how annoying riding in a straight line with nothing to do was. But they didn't, and their game is complete crap because of it. It's pretty, but graphics don't make a game, gameplay does, and this game either has none, or has such easy gameplay (capturing the bugs) that it is pointless.

Pretty stupid

Not many features at all. The only thing you could actually do is move the horse around with your mose and click to grab stuff. The storyline... Oh dear lord. There wasn't really a storyline at all. All there was is to catch some flying things and give it do some red blob, so he could eat it. This game was an utter waste of my time. NOT worth playing at all. As for the author of this flash game. Better luck next time. You might want to read some tutorials over and over again. And if you think I'm too harsh. Just look at the other games.
