Reviews for "Black Knights episode 4"

...

very good, especially the graphics. The entrance of the god/monster after the fight kinda reminded me of shadow of the colossus, am I correct??

overall, great job, but the voices didn't seem to fit the story/location, maybe add a faux british tinge to their accents.

...im starting to understand...

But alot of the info was brought to me through violence, and that didnt help. I dont feel I have been, brought in deeper into lokhliar?, but just been shown more fighting. Oh and by the way, the wizards on the cart thing...it reminds me of gandalf! Sorry, but its true.

I guess not...

I had hoped your series would actually go somewhere in two episodes, but all that happened was a lot more violence (which was much better done these last two time, by the way) and a lot of style. There still doesn't seem to be any decent plot to this series, and this latest submission, which you say should uncover some loose ends, does exactly that: it reveals new and tantalizing LOOSE ENDS, making the ones already in place seem all the more foolish. For instance, what's with the new magicians? If Malagent is borrowing their power (whether this was true was VERY unclear), why can't they just take it back in installments with interest like most loan officers?
It's great that you got some people to help you with the voice acting; you could all use some more work (tell Phil not to take depressants before speaking; makes for serious slurring), but it's a definite start. The voice of that large rocky creature (a "guardian" or something, perhaps named Elroth, perhaps just possessing the Tears of that fella) had way too much echo to be heard clearly. I first heard "Deers of Hellwrath" when he gave Red the funny stone.
Speaking of funny, did you notice how old those wizards engaging in telekinetic martial arts were? It was truly hilarious thinking they would battle Malagent (the pronunciation of whose name has now changed; the "g" used to be hard, but now it's soft), which is why you got such a high humor score.
On the up side, your graphics and styling have only improved. I'm about an inch away from giving your style a ten, and while the graphics could definitely be improved, they've grown a lot from the previous episodes.
But on that first hand again, style and graphics are very little compared to actual content. One thing that is a necessity to short films, plays, or anything is exposition. We need backstory, far more than we need flashy swordfights (not that they weren't enjoyable). You've been using a climactic structure (starting near the climax of the work) without giving up the backstory, but still rushing ahead with little regard for the needs of your audience. If you can pull it back out next episode, fill in some plotholes, maybe you'll get a better score, but for now, you'll get a 5/10.

Good, but has some major flaws

An interesting animation. I did enjoy seeing some nice graphics, character designs and animation. I would say the problems with this is the sound. Although the echoing voices were used for an effect, it ended up cancelling the voices instead. I was also sad to see that some parts of the animation had large amounts of text I found myself having to read. it may not be as bad if there wasn't as much text all at once. Other than that it was fun to watch. Nice work.

liked it, but just

it was good but it was slow and some parts were too hard to hear. it obviously took alot of work and looked very good though. enjoyed it
