Reviews for "The Eva Project"

TIGHT

This game is like gradius for snes huh? its a cool game but its hard. keep up the good work

Nice

Tight game, keep it up. It reminds me of andro dunos for neo geo. Boss game though.

ummmmm

it's an okay game with good graphics but I have to agree with all the other reviews with damage but how do u choose which upgrade u get please reply and tell me other then that a good game

A few things that aren't quite fun

First off, pretty enjoyable. There are a few things that could just use a bit of clarifying.
Then energy bar's colors are a little dim, it's a bit hard to tell what exactly your health is, bright primary colors would be better.
For that matter, perhaps a slightly larger deal when you get hit, so you can tell when it happens. More sparks or something. A little bit of invincibility after you get hit would be nice too, especially with the minefields the slow shots become.
The hit area, as everyone seems to be saying, is a bit wonky.
The little upgrade guys can go above or below the actual game play area, so the homing missiles will sometimes kill them too high or low for you to get the upgrade module. Very irritating.
Again as everyone seems to be saying, why the restriction on the movement to half way forward?
The beam upgrade goes up to 3, then doesn't go higher afterwards. Perhaps it is supposed to say MAX like the homing missle does?
There are shot patterns the bosses can do that are close to impossible to dodge, I think it's because the shots move so slowly.
Maybe a bigger deal when the bosses are about to fire their instant kill beam, yes they rotate, but a little sound and some glowing would be helpful. You know, since it kills you in one hit.
It is a bit slow paced, shot dodging often becomes carefully and slowly picking through a minefield, and being careful and slow with the bosses' big gun often means you're dead either way.
Thanks for the game.

One glaring flaw

Well done game nice graphics. I have to say that the controls get lost if you press too many keys. The huge problem with this game is collision detection, I watched enemy attacks and enemies themselves hit me for damage before they ran into me or as they passed my under my ship. If the area for damage is larger then the ship you have a huge problem. In these kind of shooters you must have accurate damage areas for the ship or it is annoying and painful to play
