Controls need work

The game looks like it would be fun to play, but I can't get past the controls. You need to impliment a different control schematic, so that people can both shoot and move at the same time. If that's an upgrade, I didn't get that far, because having to stop moving to shoot made me a sitting duck

Glaiel-Gamer responds:

It should work, maby you have an old keyboard that only allows 1 key predded at a time? None of my testerd had this problem

This rocks my fucking world good sir.

This game has literally kept me entertained for hours, and I'm not done yet! I'm amazed at how much gameplay there is in this game, and i doubt many people have played it as much as me (since 417 people have voted on it so far).... Overall you've done an extremely awesome job at making such an expansive game.

Graphics - The graphics scheme seemed pretty plain and bland to me, but I'm now glad you didn't fuck around with colours everywhere, because A: that would have meant a lot more work for you, and B: Using mostly greys you could concentrate more on detail.

Presentation + Gameplay - considering there are two different 'modes' of the game, I'm very impressed. Also, there were three difficulty levels... i only explored medium difficulty on story mode, because I've been hooked playing the game since i started, haah. So the presentation of all the menus was really nice, and i loved the layout of the weapons display, pricings, cash, etc.
The gameplay... to say the least, is awesome. Definately one of the best games I've played in terms of addictability in a very, very long time.
I found no flaws what-so-ever in the game itself, everything was really smooth, there were heaps of enemies, weapons, levels, etc.

Hah, at the moment I'm up to level 32, but just can't seem to crack it, i'll have to go at it again tomorrow morning :P

Audio - It's really good to see someone not taking heaps of different tracks from multiple authors and rotating them around each level - I like it how you've made a whole theme for your game, and stuck to it.
There were also heaps of good sound effects for all the different events in the game, and that kept it exciting to be constantly stimulized.

All in all, i really, really am enjoying playing this game, and at the moment I'd just like some more cash, so that i can buy a whole lot of weapons to get past these fucking Pods!!! haha.

Oh yeh, and some things i left out: I loved the 'scoring' system - cash for killing enemies, and rewards that kept getting higher for completing levels. Along with the bosses here and there, they proved to be pretty damn difficult :D

I love you for entertaining me so much, please, please make a sequal good sir :D

Glaiel-Gamer responds:

Nice long review, I like those. But one thing:

It's really good to see someone not taking heaps of different tracks from multiple authors and rotating them around each level - I like it how you've made a whole theme for your game, and stuck to it.
All the music is my own.

Decent game

A pretty generic shooter style game with a few nice touches. Liked the colour scheme, wasn't really apparent to me why you chose black& white but it worked (did you just like the word monochrome? heh).

Felt a lot more solid to play than most games of the genre, with proper hit tests and good visual effects. I'd say in the same league as stuff like RaidenX.

One of the highlights was the difficulty level, you just it just right where the game gets you hooked trying to beat it, but doesn't give in easily (and I was playing on EASY mode, man I must suck.) Enemies weren't bad, those turrets were a real pain in the ass. It played well even though the enemies flailed around mindlessly shooting.

The constant background got a bit tiresome as well, perhaps you could have replaced it every so often with an API pattern or another space style graphic.

I loved the sound, if it was all your own work then congratulations! Fitted really well with the game and didnt get on my nerves either :)

Only problem I had was that it wasn't apparent to me what those powerups were doing, was there an explaination somewhere for each one? If there wasn't then might I suggest one for ver.2?

Nicely polished game overal, well done.

Glaiel-Gamer responds:

The powerups are different weapons. Click on instructions on the main screen for a further explanation

Its good

It is good, id like a tutorial so i can have a bash at something similar myself :)

Only criticism is you get too much cash to start off with and so theres no real incentive to play for too long as you pretty much have the best weapon to start with.

Still great stuff i have to say. And a tutrorial would also be excellent :)

Glaiel-Gamer responds:

You only get cash to start off with in easy mode.

nice

u get a pat on the head....WEEEEEEEEE

Glaiel-Gamer responds:

get away from my head..........
