Reviews for "Len - ep. 1 - part 2/2"

A moody, atmospheric little setpiece

Reminds me vaguely of a science fiction version of a Sergio Leone western. Add vampires in there and you'd have Vampire Hunter D. :-)

Anyway, I realise this isn't the place for this sort of thing, but if you need voice actors for future episodes of this (or any other series you might be planning), please look me up! I'm greatly impressed by your artistic skills and would love to contribute in that small way. My resume is in my profile. Take a look!

RonaldRaven responds:

ah, this does bear some resemblances to Vampire Hunter D. basically the whole post-apocalyptic desert thing, I suppose.

but hey, I'm glad you were impressed by the movie, and I'm also really happy that you want to contribute. I was actually starting to look for voice actors for my next series, and you seem to know what you're doing in this area. so when I get to a point in the process when I can get you involved, I'll definitely shoot you an e-mail. thanks again.

Again very intresting...

Very intresting, the spider robot thing as well as the animation.
This looks quite pixely could you care to explain?

RonaldRaven responds:

glad you liked it. it looks pixellated because, since I didn't have the foresight for web optimization, I did a lot of work on the movie, like adding music and effects, after I exported it from Flash to a video file. after editing, we originally put the movie on DVD, and it looked pretty good on TV. however, now the thing was on a video file, so to get it back into Flash in its full form, I had to make it into a compressed Flash video. Flash video can look nice, but it takes a lot more file-size than Newgrounds allows for a movie, so what you see is the result of compression and low bit-rate. I won't be doing it that way from now on, so expect better quality in the future.

Better than part two...

But I don't know why but the movie was long to load and it was short to see.. That was strange...

RonaldRaven responds:

strange indeed... *cues Twilight Zone music* ...I'll try to optimize better in the future for lower file-size or at least more bang for the buck. again, glad you enjoyed it.

I liked that...

The animation was very smooth in this, the sound went nicely too and it reminded me of the old War of the Worlds movie. I only have one complaint and that is the filesize was huge...the movie didn't go long at all for 8 meg (the 2 parts together)..why I gave you 9/10

RonaldRaven responds:

hmmm...I'm still not seeing the old War of the Worlds connection except for possibly the (unintentional) retro-ish sci-fi. but glad you liked it. packing more stuff into less file size will be a priority in future releases.

Damn decent.

Pretty straightforward, but very well executed.

RonaldRaven responds:

alright, cool. thank you for reviewing.
