How about you actually read the bill
The crime bill of 1994, or the "assault rifle ban" only banned seven "deadly evils" that put the "assault" in assault rifle. Such as extendable buttstocks, pistol grips, removable clips, grenade launchers, bayonet mounts, flash hiders, threaded barrels. During the ban you could not have any more than two of these aesthetics on your rifle, if it was manufactured after the ban. Facing a $10,000 fine and 10 years in prison. If manufactures before the ban, you could have any/all these aesthetics.
It never banned any assault rifles, or any guns for that matter, you could always go buy a semi-automatic AK47, and you still can. The only difference is now you can have more than two of the aforementioned aesthetics on your rifle.
Fully automatic weapons are still Illegal in the U.S! This never changed.
I don't blame you for not knowing this because the media has been so crude with their fact-checking. It's really sad to see this, and really makes you wonder about how much of what you see or read is true, even from credible sources.
