Reviews for "midnight party"

Good trance, maybe alittle unoriginal

The whole percussionwas good. Liked the fade out, but get rid of the FL samples. I found it real repititive in a way. Maybe because you didn't use much instruments.

Good job for a first trance.

repetitive... yes...
is repetitive
unoriginal?... why?

Alright

It seems to be very much the same sort of beat all the way through the song, or simler, not too much change though it does sound okay and does pretty much work in a way. Also this seems to loop very well, which is a plus, so good job on the looping part, it does also sound to end well, so that transition is good.

Though a lot more to this might have been good to hear, it wasn't too bad on a whole, so pretty good job on this one. But the looping is the best thing about it.

3/5

nice review
I'm glad you like how it loop

Good

It was good, started off well, built up into a very nice song. I did feel it kinda stopped a bit shorted but other than that it wa a very nice song. For your first "Trance" song it wasd quite good

kinda stopped... ok... I have to work on that

much improvement from the last track

it does sound like a generic trance track, but regardless this is quite a bit better than your previous "not so simple" track, the synths have some direction, there's an actively moving beat to accompany the main riffs, and it flows decently and doesn't really have any awkward moments. it stays in key as well, so its not just completely random.

I like the opening bits on the Eurogate arp, but once it gets past the intro the melody is too predictable and needs more changes. I would definetly include one or two more synths in here, such as a bassline, another lead melody and maybe some extended sustained notes for some background sound. The beat works out decently , but is nothing special. i applaud for starting to use some dynamics, but the rhythms lack diversity and an interesting beat.

For the next step, try routing the channels to different slots on the mixer, and adjust their levels and experiment with FX on the mixer. try tilting the hats to the left or the right, and put more EQed bass on the kick, and definetly raise the volume levels on the kick and clap just a bit. Try messing with the controls so you can hear the sounds more audibly. The clarity is rather good in here, nothing overly loud, clipping, unwanted sounds, but practicing mixing to get a more interesting sculpture.

well certainly keep it going man, you've gotten better! :D

wow.. you are very exigent... XD
but your review are the most helpful ones...
I really appreciated it
thanx for all the advices

hmmm

yeah like said earlier, the melody does wander too much and the pattern is cliched and lame-sounding, so i wont talk about tha tmuch. i think that you could do things in terms of synths/samples tho. I'm just going to throw you a bunch of stuff i can think of right now, since your new and you can use that criticism/suggestions ;) it seems like you have a grasp of how to use the program, so the second step is to experiemetn and figure out what sounds good, what you like and what you dont. [don't necessarily make things for how others would liek it... you will not be happy making music, satisfy urself!! lol]

1) the claps were just kind of weak and annoying, and sometimes the hats seemed out of place :P

2) the bass drum could be more textured - bring up the high frequencies with a parametric EQ or something, maybe overlay another sample so the bass part lasts longer and the drum sounds more interesting.

3) the synths themselves were really bland. i dont know how to tell you to get a good soundign synth, that's something you will have to experiment with. try adding on and taking off effects, changing waveforms and experimenting with LFO [low frequency oscillation] and the like. idk how FL really works, but im sure you can do al that stuff.

4) a stronger bassline would be nice--makes the song sound more full. so would some ambient effects/use of noise.

those are some suggestions, hope i helped :) it just takes time and practice to sound good =] and im glad u liked my song!

aldlv responds:

you helped... thanx a lot =D
