Hunters: Relic of Stars is a 2D Action Platformer, a love letter to many old school action games of the 8 and 16 bit eras. There are six stages in total, this is the just first one!

Play stage 2 here: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/566291
Play stage 3 here: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/566564
Play stage 4 here: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/566734
Play stage 5 here: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/566895
Play stage 6 here: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/567109

CONTROLS:
Arrow Keys - Move / Aim
Z - Shoot
X - Jump
C - Change Weapons (when available)
Spacebar - Pause / Open Map

You can also use WASD to move and JKL to shoot/jump/change weapons, however on some browsers/keyboards you may run into issues with too many keys being pressed at once, nothing I can do about that.

PLAY WITH A CONTROLLER:
========================
If you have a PC Gamepad, I highly recommend using the Joy2Key Software. You can download it: here: http://bit.ly/NCx4h

Saving - Progress through the stage is saved automatically at every major checkpoint. If you have to leave and come back, your progress will still be there!

Bugs - If you do find a bug, please report it to me via PM. Be as descriptive as you can, I can't fix things if I don't know what went wrong!

Sticky Keys Bug - If the keys feel like they're sticking, character keeps running after you let go, please read the third post in this thread: http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1123318
This is a bug with some browsers/systems and there's really nothing I can do to fix it.

It's a decent start.

This game would massively benefit from a mouse aiming system, rather than a directional based one. Having to run towards the enemy to shoot at an enemy, while nostalgic, is completely illogical and makes combat suffer from lack of decent controls, rather than actual challenge, which is never good in a game.

The graphics and art in general is fairly amateur, but will only get better as you continue to work on it, so don't worry too much about that.

The voice acting is very well done, and is where you get most of your points from me.

Overall the game needs polishing, and the controls desperately need more fine tuning. This does have a lot of potential however, and I think you should continue to run with it.

Great overall

It is a great game, but I think you could have added more emotion to your characters. Other than that, awesome.

Wow, just wow.

I saw the art, and first thing I thought was "wow, this is going to blow." Boy was I wrong. Great gameplay, understandable story, fitting music, excellent voice acting(even from Rina, who, no offense to ya hun, has gotten pretty bland lately.) But the best thing about this game is the boss fights. It harkens back to the days of Megaman when there was a specific strategy to beating bosses, and if you didn't follow the strategy, you'd die. Perfect mixture of old and new, and all I could recommend for you is to work on your art a bit. The bright colors make for recognizable characters, but it may be just a bit *too* bright. The cutscenes are PERFECT. Do NOT change those at all. Overall, you've gained a fan. Excellent job! 5/5 9/10

Awesome game!

Loved the voice acting and the superb controls. The game is very fluid and the plot is excellent for a flash game. I can not 10 this hard enough.
