Here is its eulogy, a collection of the kind words written about it while still among the living. They shall live on forever in its place.

This has been the most difficult film I have ever made, because its meaning is very true to my soul. For too much of my life I have been a mindless consumer of time. Hopelessly placing value in things that never gave an ounce of value back. Now that I am older, I worry endlessly that this new generation is making the same mistakes I now deeply regret.

In the end, I hope my message is honest and clear. Whether you agree with me or not, please share you thoughts, spark meaningful discussions, and share this film with everyone you know.

Special thanks to all those who have been my strength - and to all of you for taking a moment to open your minds =)

This makes me kinda sad.

This is the truth. But at least I swear I will never play World Of Warcraft!
And also, even though I play often video games,I know I have a life, and I will try as hard as I can one day to not make it destroyed by video games. But I guess I still have time.

i agree

what u said inspierd me to do somthing with my life thnk you

i agree

I really get what your saying, being a former WOW player myself i can say that at the end of the day you accomplish nothing when it comes to video games. But I think there is a balance to be found. Most of my friends are gamers like me and we experience life just fine because it is not all we are. Its important not to obsess over one thing it can consume you. All I can say is Great vid. Its an inspiring spectacle and it got me thinking about how my life could be improved

Guess I'm not the average gamer.

You said the average gamer makes 2-3 level 80 characters on WOW, yet I've never bothered to make it past 20 or so. It is a problem when games take time away from other things, but I only find games as a means of entertainment, nothing more or less unless someone wants it to be. Sure, if I totaled up all of my playing time for ONLY my Pokemon games, not counting all of the others I own, I'd probably have more than a week, but I see it this way; there's no way I'd sit in one spot and play a game for a week. The 90+ hours on my Disgaea 3 save is largely a result of me leaving my PS3 on for long periods of time without playing, but I'll readily admit that Mao doesn't teach me anything helpful, even with his 2 million E.Q. However, that's not the point of games to me. Games are a method of getting in touch with your imaginative side, of creating an enjoyable feeling in the player. But I'd never let it interfere with other things. Nor would I just give up on it and throw everything away 'cause I'm playing for half of my waking day. I never sit and play anything for more than an hour, so it's not so fair to group all of my game time together when I do so many other things in between. In short: Games are a form of release, or something symbolic like that. I don't believe that they can be blamed for serious negative or positive effects, unless couples with outside factors. I see your case though, and I wouldn't completely blame games for it.

Fair enough, but....

While you've got a point, you could just as easily replace videogames with working a job. Or going to college. Or almost anything. Most people don't retain even half of what they learn through schooling, and a degree is next to useless now. A job is very, very rarely fulfilling, and generally is there to make sure you don't starve to death. Neither of them will likely make you happy, both will strangle your time / schedule and what you want to do, and when you die, neither will really see you fulfilled.

So while I'm glad you made a self-discovery, keep in mind just about everything you do wastes your time when you decide it's not important to you. Jumping out of a plane doesn't teach you much, but people go google-eyed about it for the experience and the memories. Most games work the same way - you do it for the fun, the experience, and the memory.

<deleted> responds:

No you can't. Working a job produces REAL money. College produces experience that can be used to get better jobs. Being a lvl 80 warmonger won't bring you and real tangible things.
