Connor you have some of the best staging around. I'd go so far as to say it's on par with Luis. Genius work. Can't wait for the toon!
Woah, thanks! I dunno about being on par with Luis, but if there's one thing I ever learned from him, it's the importance of presentation. I'm keeping my characters a little more loose in terms of drawing/animation in this one, but I'm doing the backgrounds in all photoshop so it's a little different from the whole "draw in flash then import it" thing I'm used to. I hope I get to see more of your stuff this year too, you're getting better and better every time I see something new from you.

That's pretty cool stuff.. How did you get the windows to look like that? With a jpeg?
Uh, it's a little complicated now that I think about it but I'll try to explain it the best I can. The background's completely drawn with the photoshop brush tool, so I basically just zig zagged with blues until I got the windows to look like the door does now. After that, I brought it into flash, cut the windows out with the lasso tool (if there's one thing I'm grateful for in Flash CS3 it's the addition of the polygon lasso) and put those on a layer below the photoshopped background. In between those two layers I drew a big puffy cloud type thing with a big white brush on 75% alpha, and afterwards I just put some big blur on it - probably around 30 or 40. So basically that cloud slowly moves while the credits come up so it looks like clouds moving in the reflection of the glass.

Game im doing art for
The art of the character looks really good, but I think it might be a little too different from the background in terms of quality. I'd redraw the background to look a little more crisp like Alien Hominid's background with the dark outlines to match the characters style. Va-JJ apartments - I'm sure you had a field day coming up with the building names haha, I know I would.
