I have no clue I wasn't an Ad major. I do know that one of the Advertising final projects was to create a fake object and do a entire ad campaign over it.
why the interest of what it is called?

Because I've been drawing these for a long time and I found out what it was a while ago, but since forgot. I've been drawing these strange alien comics for the past 3 days as well.

have you tried asking around forums frequented by advertising students?

Well, the thing is, I don't think it has much to do with advertising.

the reason I keep trying to direct you to people who do advertising for a living or go to school for advertising degrees is because for a majority of there class projects involve making fake advertisements. And much of the time they have to create props of what they are advertising, be it as you said "a comic book, to an encyclopedia, to a blueprint of something."
So it seems to me, when creating "Fake" pieces of art, that asking an ad person would be the way to go.

You're talking about that ring that shows up when you put the pen down right?

Go to control panel, go to hardware and sound>pen and touch
Pen options will open up, on the list should be press and click, highlight it and go to settings, and disable it.

because its the one that takes the longest to install?

It's the thing you use for what you do?
Photoshop is what i first re-installed when i got windows 7, and the tablet drivers.
Than drew while the rest of my shit installed.

actually it's one of my quickest installs.

CS3 usually takes an hour...

but vero is right it is the thing I use :P
I don't know how many times I have tried to go to bed and then open Max while telling myself that I'm only going to open this for a minuet or two....
yeah I have seen a lot of sun rises because of this.

On the topic of opening 3d programs, I tried blender, with no experience, guidance or tutorials, and the only thing I figured out how to do was move a box around, put a color on it, turn it, and render it.

yeah that sounds about right.
as with pretty much all 3D programs, you really need something or someone to kind of nudge you in the right direction. After learning how to edit the polygons, it's really easy.

So today I find that a sequel to the game "Robot Wants Kitty" is out and it's called "Robot Wants Puppy"

I liked the last one. I thought the original was a creative platformer. so I played the second. I figured the second one would be practically the same game just with a dog as the end result. well for the most part it was, but the upgrades made me lol, and lol hard.
it's well worth the play and I suggest you guys go check it out.

Pic inspired by the weapon of the game...
