First off, just some general notes, comments and whatnot, then I'll get what I have posted.

I started keeping rudimentary track of my own totals on blams and protects back in January. It's kind of grown into a 2MB spread sheet. One of my ongoing concerns has always been just how much more do I need to get to the next rank.

Over the last few months, I've been rumaging through people's profiles ... scanning threads, who just deposited xp, reviewed a flash, submitted one, etc. ... and have developed a decent listing of the Elite Guard folks under level 50.

Special thanks to Newgrundling for his VP list (and captain_bob for generating the original from which we have both drawn). They filled in a lot of my blanks. There are still plenty more missing, particularly in the Private and PFC ranks, so just post in this thread and I'll get you on the next update. Some of those blanks are my fault as, for quite a while, I stopped logging (and deleted from my records most of the time) people after I passed them.

The rank listed is as of the last time I looked them up. Rank updates from the NG server occur every 2 days, sometimes 3, after the daily maintenance, so you'll see some discrepancies between current comparative totals and their listed rank. Ultimately this list will have weekly totals and /or averages per person. I only just started keeping a static count, in addition to my normal dynamic, this past week so that will have to wait. It wasn't something that interested me for the most part, but you guys might care so it'll be in there as this progresses.

As people change their user name I may or may not notice it. Give a shout if you've changed and want it fixed here. All alphas are in lower case so that I could differentiate 0 from o, 1 from i and l, etc. They'll stay that way.

Already have a couple situations I had mentioned would come up. TooCool100 currently has a greater total than tezzza, but at the server update had less so is still listed as 68. Rather than try and explain this every time it comes up, I'm going to leave them at the position at which the server last posted them.

If you are, or know of anyone, Elite Guard Private or higher that isn't on the list, post in thread or send me an e-mail so I can put them in. I have to put a cut off someplace; 1k total is as good as any.

My comments to NGling were to the effect that I had put a lot of work into this, was getting close to not needing it, so may as well do something useful with it lol. Anyway, my target is at minimum 1/week. The servers were updating popularity right after midnight, but XP rank and B/P ranks only every 2 days or so after the 4am maintenance. I figured if I had spare time I'd catch one or two of those latter updates, to go with a weekly (including changes in b+p totals) to round it out.

The weekly will (should anyway) be on Thursdays, as that's the day this past week I actually set aside everyone's totals so I could compare later. The only people for whom I had been doing that previously had been myself, RyoHahn, and Ramagi who are per day, respectively 87.66, 75.94, and 64.10. Factor in the 3 months I was AWOL and you'll see why I'm still using this list lol

I'll probably add some goofy shit, like Profile Pic/Quote of the Update, as I go along ... let this grow into some huge beast like my original tracking did lol

The difference, I suppose, is that I have 5 or 6 manageable data files I've made, only one of which needs constant updating (the top 50 protectors list).

But compared to your list, mine is easy to update. Yours is gonna be a pain in the ass. So good luck to you.

But a couple bits of advice, and a question:

Forget trying to get everyone over Private or even Private First Class. Corporal maybe. Sergeant would work. Keeping it between #50 and #200 would also be a good framework so it doesn't get too out of hand (unless you love wasting your own time, like I do #;-}>)

Consider putting the points before the name, right after the rank. If you'll notice in my top 50 protectors thread, it makes the columns line up every so nicely in the crappy font NG BBS uses.

And lastly, why are you making it now, when you're #51? I presume you aren't going to stay at #51 and remain the King of the Non-Official Listed Blammers and Saviors... so then you're going to enter the top 50 list (I WONDERED if someone was gonna get there ahead of redrum...). which means... why will you care about #51 - 200 at that point?

I've found a number of Police Captains that were ranked 230ish. It just seemed to make sense to extend it down to the EG Privates. It will give me ~175 names (when I finish tracking everyone down). As other people level I may raise the bar like you and NGling have been doing just to keep it manageable. We'll see how it goes.

Don't worry, just work on improving it for the next update. Check out the format of my list if you want. you wouldn't need the ....s (well, if you didn't want them) then.

Poor agent66. He's always been my high save/blam ratio hero. He was in the 30s when I hit the top 50, now you're about to unseat him (and I suppose redrum will take shadow/format/oldgrundling off the list).

With the sheer volume of garbage we've been getting the last few weeks, it'll be a loooong while before he gets knocked off lol. Before I bailed out back in March, I had managed to get my Blam rate down to just a smidge over 50%. Since I came back, it's rare for any day to be under 75% ... keeps pushing my overall blam rate up ... 61.17% and climbing. *sigh*

syme climbed 5 for some insane shit like 120/day

All things are relative ... take a look at the top 5. thisis is making a play for 4, fix is making a play for 3, and thejoe is trying to hold them both off.
thejoe is 90/day, this 100/day, fix 155/day. Interesting lil firefight they got going on there ;) Fixit is prolly living on caffeine at this point lol

My static point for comparison is this past Thursday. That's only 3 points in the sample base; days which tend to be busier for people to have movies upon which to vote and also in which they tend to have more time TO vote. As this progresses, we'll get more data points (work/school days should nudge things back down to normal) and the real averages will start coming out. For the first couple weekly updates, the avg/day listing is going to be more of a "good guess" than a solid figure.

The numbers are correct. The issue is the same one we ran into back at the BC forums. In that case, I was the one using the smaller sample set (a whole whopping week or 2 from which I ran my numbers). I pointed out at the time that there was bound to be some error based on the fact that I had so few data points. Here, it's reversed.

My numbers go back to 22 February. This means they include, but are not restricted to, the four weeks upon which you are focusing. Since the tail end of May, Ruo's highest total was on 10 June. On that date he obtained 74, whereas you got 134. That's been typical since the tail end of May. Prior to that is a long period of time over which his average was not too much lower that yours. If the present trend continues, you'll see the differential push his cumulative average further down from yours. If we separate June out, the pre-June averages are 80.76 for you, 74.99 for Ryo. Considering only June, it is now 93.05 to 45.26. (93.05 - 45.26) * 21 = 1003.59 Back track that into the last week of May from when you levelled, and you account for the remaining 100 increase in your margin over Ryo.

In aggregate, the pre- and post-June data work out to the numbers you were questioning.

I considered commenting on it but was worried about the number of characters I had left lol. On a few occasions, there have been people tied with BP totals. Each time they were given their own rank. Didn't happen often enough for me to determine if it was based upon seniority at that total, random, or alphabetic. The last couple days, the XP and BP rank updates have been occuring daily (before the maintenance downtime for some reason) and since then, ties get the same rank. Same thing happened at 152 with red_faction and seandillon. ~shrug~

In other news, rather than updating the entire list now, here's the people I've found today and I'll merge them into the main list next time I update. The second column (totals) is accurate as of the time I found them and looked up their profile, while the rank listed is based on what their total was at 4:30AM EDT.

The numbers are correct. The issue is the same one we ran into back at the BC forums. In that case, I was the one using the smaller sample set (a whole whopping week or 2 from which I ran my numbers). I pointed out at the time that there was bound to be some error based on the fact that I had so few data points. Here, it's reversed.

This is also why I pointed out in my previous post:

"For the first couple weekly updates, the avg/day listing is going to be more of a "good guess" than a solid figure."

This is June. People have finals to take, quarterly reports to prepare, vacations to go on, etc. I've been keeping dynamic track of everyone except myself you and Ryo ... as in, for everyone but us, I've simply kept a running tally as I was concerned with who got how much over what time. I established a mark point 19 June, where I now have static numbers for everyone I have listed. Same as with NGling's list, the first weekly update will be a bit misleading as some folks will only have the 3 or 4 days since I found them as their "weekly" total.

There are going to be some wild swings in people's cumulative averages as some go on vacation, others come back, etc. I count on it taking at least 2 weeks to start seeing trends that even resemble reality ... more on the order of two months for things to start settling down into patterns.

hehehe I went back and did a small calculating..your numbers are preaty good. It easy to tell the last 4 or so times I have ranked up cause I posted about it.

Well I not even totally sure on the b/p. Way back everyone knew it was 900exp to break into being level 30. Who would have thought they run it up to where it is now?

Instead of 10exp..it could set at 100 b/s a day or something like that. Only the Ng staff really knows the truth.
