The Non-dubbed Non-fucked with version is not. I have not watched either but i hear this is how it is with most dubbed or westernized anime.

The ONE tiny positive thing I can say about Naruto is that the fight scenes have some very un-anime-like SMOOTH animation and not the choppy bullcrap most anime gets.

I agree. I read the manga, but I absolutely hate the American show, but when you watch the Japanese version, it is much better. The only good Americanized show was Dragon Ball Z. The Japanese version of that is even better, though.
I have read the manga, that is it. Same case for Hajime no Ippo, Gantz, and Death Note. I have read the mangas, but never seen the animes.
