I don't think it's about price. It's just the way the software works. Vector vs pixels ...work differently when transformed and everything. if you want different, go for toon boom software. that's what disney currently uses in their 2d animated films.

flash is just more efficient for what it's used for. being able to scale, and transform etc while photoshop is efficient with high quality still images.

i haven't used toon boom but that may be a slightly mixed version of flash/photoshop with the different speeds and capabilities of certain features

the events are merely fictional, written, directed, and acted out by all who create them

they need to combine photoshop with fireworks

those are really the only 2 adobe products that are similar enough to warrant that.

does contribute still exist or did they merge it with dreamweaver?

flash and illustrator would be nice together, but they serve completely different purposes

Here's my computer arts class project. I need to make a scene for it now.

That's great man. I've had a little go in blender, and I'm shit at it ;)

ON ANOTHER NOTE.
I still have some old art from a veryyyy old game.

All the art is still on my laptop. It got quite far in development.
A nice feature the programmer had was the firing of the toast to hit enemies, reach items and things.

So, anyone up for coding it?

NOSTALGIA.

Nice but the eyes look like they are floating above the character rather than being a part of him. Looks like a cross between Bitey and Sackboy, very nice.

Haha its true, I didn't indent the head for the space where the eyes go yet is why.
Thanks :)

It's a bit of an unusual thing to do (the twittering, that is), but getting traffic is essentially the goal of any website. The more traffic they obtain, the more successful the website, so it makes sense that they pay for anything that achieves this. I mean, they don't just sponsor games to be nice.
Sure, it seems lame now, but if it works, loads of websites will be doing it soon. Like asking for Diggs or for people to join on Facebook (apart from ArmorGames are now using money as a catalyst).

Haha. It looks like an interesting game nonetheless.

I'd program it but I'm swamped right now. Good luck finding someone.

PLATFORMER SLOPE DETECTION
So, I'm working on a game that requires movement up and down hills, curves, and ramps. Hooray for me...

Right now it really sucks. Dump.

I'll fix it tomorrow. For now, enjoy the super-sexy red square.

Done. Its due for tommorow, couldn't make a nice forest environment (have other homework).
Also, he looks to realistic, I'd have to make a realistic environment to go with it :S

Believe it or not, forests are a little tough to make in 3d. Depending on the level of detail you're going for, trees can tend to become very processor intensive quickly. I like your solution with the glossy, ray-traced chamfer boxes. Looks great.

Glaiel and gust figured it all out for you in an ancient thread here:

I like the sense of accomplishment I get from figuring it out for myself... If I get really stuck, I'll use that, but it's going pretty well at the moment.

Ain't that hard to do slope detection. Just record two points and use some simple trig to work out the angle of inclination.

It's a song that really grows on you.
I like it; I think the song is full of childlike joy (and the music video expresses this further). However, loads of my friends absolutely hate it.
Oh well.

No really, it is simple. And the version of Flash doesn't really change that.
Try making it for yourself, and you'll see that it isn't too bad.
