Hello everyone! Fairly-long-time on-and-off lurker of this thread reporting.
I have a bit of a small interest in photography, to the extent that while I'm not the sort to upgrade computers, video game consoles (at least, not any more on that last note), etc., I really am up for trying to get some money for a new camera and accessories. I'm not an expert in any sense of the word - the only camera I have right now is a small, convenient one, but it serves me well right now. The whole thing kinda springs from my interest in films and how they are made. I keep meaning to take some time out for myself and do some light experimentation to create some expressionist sorts of pictures in my house. For now, I'm just turning up with spur-of-the-moment things now and then.
I'll give some credit where it's due though - I think part of my 'take a photo whenever I see something interesting' attitude stems from two guys in particular: my Dad, who has an endless obsession with getting good pictures of butterflies; and Mr. Wade Fulp believe it or not, helpfully doing his thing above yet again. I blame my thing for insects in particular on the latter, though they're obviously not very detailed. So far, I've tended to focus on trying to compare the size of the insect, seeing as we don't get large things here. I think there's something odd about getting spiders on light switches, etc.
Oh yeah, and I love cityscapes. I know there a couple of cityscape artists/photographers here already. It's something I want to do personally when I visit a city in the future. I have a couple on this computer, specifically of Sydney and Tokyo, but they were taken by my Dad, not me.
I'm all over the place, I know. Like a hyperactive child.
Like I said, I'm completely amateur, so I might keep checking this thread out more often and posting anything I pick up myself, just casually an' all. If anyone can offer any advice/encouragement, that'd be great! By the way, I really do enjoy a lot of what I see here, to the extent that I can't really pull individuals out! Yeah, I'm getting out cheaply, but it is honest!
Anyway, here's a sample. I just took it during a walk a few months back because it struck me like a sort of demented set design, linking to the experessionist thing I said earlier. I'm pretentious. Anyway, just a little thing from me.
what
I took this picture while I was at the City hall , I was taking the picture I was moving back a bit from the lens it was really bright but I really surprised with how good the quality came off from the instinct mobile.
The two pictures happened to be taken near a police station which very convenient.
It's not great photography, but what are the chances of me taking a picture of a fox pouncing with my cell?

Sorry, here's the picture.
What's with the picture? were you in a cardboard box with a little rectangle to see out of?
No I wanted to cut some of it out because I was in my car and I got the edge of my steering wheel. =(

I can't admit that, FOXHOUND would never allow it. Being the special agent that I am I have to take precautions on who I can trust.

Nice one! I feel it's a very clever use of your macro lens.
Here's a place that I probably should never have left. Can you guess where this is? (Hint: NOT the Grand Canyon!)

No, it's art because you're staring off into the distance.
