Comic-Con 2006!

I arrived in San Diego on Monday and we spent the past few days setting up our booth at the convention center. The team was also making a mad dash to get our new game up and running on the XBOX360 devkits, which had just arrived last week!

Last night was pro-night, where the convention center was open to exhibitors, press and anyone who bought a four-day pass to Comic-Con. So far the response has been GREAT! We have two stations running Castle Crashers (the new game) on XBOX 360s and one station running a new, widescreen, hi-def version of Alien Hominid! These are both being developed as Live Arcade games!

I know we showed a rough demo of Castle Crashers last year on a Gamecube. Unfortunately, publishers aren't looking for Gamecube games anymore, so it isn't an option for us. With Live Arcade, we can publish ourselves! The model is great for small developers.

If you stop by Comic-Con, POST YOUR PICTURES in this thread! Also, if you take pictures at our booth, email me larger versions of the pics! I want to collect as many pics as possible from everyone who comes by and takes pictures!

Comic-Con is taking place all week at the San Diego convention center. Lots of Newgrounds contributors are in attendance, both on-foot and with booths. If you are anywhere nearby, don't miss out! We are also selling copies of Alien Hominid, as well as figurines and t-shirts! We have new t-shirts for Castle Crashers and Tank Men - I'll have to post pictures soon!

Just read about Behemoth's upcoming XBLA games on Joystiq.com. They called Alien Hominid "one of the most successful and interesting indie games ever made". Pretty sweet.

Castle Crashers is a good name. Also, arcade versions would be cool. Though, I would have to travel a good distence to play it.

StrawberryClock would be a great addition to the poster. Yes, the poster would be great with StrawberryClock. StrawberryClock is funny and handsome.

The game is going to be X-Box only? That sucks, really really hard. People who have an X-Box 360 are [stupid but let's lay that aside] graphic whores. If it's not 3D, it sucks. Please release the game for Playstation 2 or Gamecube Tom. I beg you.

No SBC is not on the poster

Also, good luck having it on xbox360 and all, but it means I'm not gonna be playing it. Is it still coming to PS2/3 and stuff?

The hi-def Alien Hominid demo we have on display is for the XBOX 360. :)

Castle Crashers, ey? Trailer looks awesome. It'll do for Golden Axe what Alien Hominid did for Metal Slug.

And surely there must be some guy willing to publish it for GC. I mean, there's still the Super Paper Mario game coming out, although that is an official Ninty thing.
On a marginally related note, how did you manage to make the background transparent on your video trailer flash?
Ps. When you get around to programming cheats, I highly reccomend secret characters such as Hominid, Dad, Pico and erm... Wade? I would seriously pay the asking price for the ability to play Wade alone.

Hi Tom, I'll be going to my third comic con in a row just to visit the NG/Behemoth booth :) (from Mexico) but this time with my wife and son, anyway, the question is, will you be selling AH for GBA at the booth ?? I already own the GC version (which I played a lot with my 4 year old son, when I bought it he was 3 and he loved it! BTW ), and now my son wants it for his GBA...

Any way, looking forward to have the joy of playing ( my son included ) the new game demo ( just as I did the last year) and buy some hominid stuff...

Do you think you might develop a game for PS3 when its out, or stick to the basics, since you don't need to much 3D for your awsome 2D games?
