I understand that the new system looks promising, but so did the last one, and the one before that. This, if my memory serves me, is the third redesign this particular thread of the NGDD has had. And you know what? After each redesign, there was a slight spurt of interest, and then people went on their way.

Look at the last page (not the one with the Hoff as the first post, but the page before it). The thread hadn't moved in 2 months. People just don't care any more. If DarkSoldier was serious about this redesign, he would have done something when a good amount of people were rounded up and posting here.

Look, if you want an NGDD, wait until Spring of 2010 before making a new thread. There will be a new cast of regulars that would be willing to come in, and Dark could refine his system. I'm not opposed to reopening the NGDD; I loved this place. But nostalgia can't sustain a thread.

I maybe a month late in replying, but time is irrelevant. And to answer your question, I was in power because I knew what I was doing, some people came here looking for guidance, not a BFF. I don't even plan anything against you, I am just one man who believes you are the best example, of everything wrong in this BBS, this website, the internet, the United Kingdom and the world.

Now, on to matters important here. I haven't been around in a while due to prior affairs, but it is still painfully obvious this place in its current setup just won't thrive. I leave the important of this decision, to my most trusted NGDD men, so that they may choose our next step, should their be one.

So no one wants to step up and say anything in reference to Phantom's post? Well then clearly no one wants this to continue. I check every day for something to happen here. So if no one wants to take the role of continuing with the NGDD, then it's time to let the NGPD and the EGB start doing what we left off with. It was a good run for everyone, but maybe this just isn't the time for the NGDD to be up and running again.

I'm calling it to give some time and let the planning work itself out. Start the NGDD in a few months when everyone may have time again. Don't close the topic, but let people gradually come back and see how it turns out. It isn't an end or a beginning of an end forever, but instead it's a time when we need to sit back and see if Newgrounds really needs a place like us anymore.

Those are my thoughts, if anyone else has an opinion, then state it.

I've tried to talk to DarkSoldier about this, and he hasn't repsonded. It's been almost a week after the deadline I gave him to make a convincing argument on why this should stay alive and prove that his mythical new LD system will be able to sustain life here. As far as I'm concerned, the main opponent to the NGDD's closing doesn't care anymore.

I say we lock this thread. I'll still have the link on my userpage for reference. It'll also be there for when (and if) the thread pops up. But I think I've made my arguments pretty clear over the last few pages. The only thing I would like to add (or reiterate), is that with a new thread, it gives the NGDD a fresh face, and a less intimidating demeanor. It'll attract a slew of new members, and I'm sure a few old guys will help run it and keep it going. But this thread has become stagnant and unable to support itself under its 470 pages.

So that's it. If DarkSoldier or Phantom have nothing to say, and TheThing is against the idea of continuing here, then we need to shut the whole place down. I won't be the one to do it, but one of you should. If this place is started back up I would join, assuming it had more organization. I'm not cut out to be a leader of this place anymore, it takes too much time. In my senior year of college I don't have time for much of anything anymore.

Sorry guys, my computers video card was broken for the past 15 days. And I am very sorry to TheThing for not replying to you on PS3.

I personally think the NGDD thread should stay open. It leaves a door for opportunity. If it's locked and someone then wants to re-create it, I doubt we'll get a mod to open this thread. And therefore causing us to start a new thread and what will the first post be of that thread? The LD System was suppose to be a sort of beta of the New-NGDD system. So personally, I would hope this thread stays open but if you guys feel that it's better off closed then I won't object to it...

I just been really busy and working on the LD System has been hard. When I look at the overall progress of the LD System, it looks good but then I think about the commitment that people in the NGDD will have to put forward in order for the system to not fail and I start to be concerned. People are busy with their lives and that's fine, I'm busy with mine too. The LD System would need every NGDD member being an active member of their position/rank in the NGDD. If one person would to mess up or not do their work, the whole system could fall...

I see what you're saying. It would be easier to have this thread remain open so it coudl be revied easier. But I think a new thread is needed anyway. I was for a new thread when the NGDD was redesigned. We've changed drastically since that first post, and I think a new thread would reflect that. As I've said, it'll draw in many new members who don't know about this old thread, and it'd be nice to not have any of the shenanigans posted here or the disappointing ending.

Mods (especially the rare non-douche ones) usually don't mind either re-opening a thread that was requested to be shut down or allowing a new thread of the same club reemerge. If we can secure permission and keep a record of it, it should be no problem.

If that's the case, we need to rethink the LD system. Things change on Newgrounds very rapidly, as do lives. What I can commit to today may not be the case in 3 months. We need a system that does not rely on everyone being at the right place at the right time. People can be unreliable at times, and we need a system that will be able to compensate for that.

I can see that you agree we need to take time off from the NGDD. I'm glad something is progressing. I say we use this thread in order to discuss how the LD system can change to make it less reliant on everyone working cohesively. Unless there's some place else we can go to talk about it of course. If there is a place to go, I say we work on securing the proper permission to close this thread and either reopen it later or make a new thread.

Sorry, we're not taking new members. It's still up in the air on what's happening with this club, so I suggest checking back in a few months.

Reason this has failed now is the fannying around with a new sytem, it took me and Dave 2 days to come up with the last one, this has taken 2 months I think so far and then people wonder why people don't post.

I have a few ideas but since i'm not a member anymore you probably don't want to hear them so I won't post them unless asked.

I don't know. DarkSoldier apparently has this huge plan, but he is never on to discuss it or how to make it better.

Been looking around NG, looks like its dying slowly. I remember when I had to skip to the third page to get to the NGDD when the last post was 1 day ago. Now 3 pages in and theres topics from weeks ago, shame I guess but maybe there is just generally not enough people on for this to be worth while.

Id like to join the Department of Flash if there is room. I meet the b/s points requirement, i've got more then 30 good reviews and im making my way to a silver whistle.

This place is, apparently, closed for a few months until an inevitable reboot of some sort. Because the NGDD is closed, it's not accepting new members at this time.

I'm sorry but this club is in a strange "break" state. We are no longer accepting members as we are unsure of actually what is going on, whether it is staying open or not.

I would say that you should check back in a few months.
