Yeah definatly! Apparantly the keyboard is a very filthy place, so technically it's unhygenic, but meh.

im at school from 8AM to 3PM on mondays and wensdays and i eat lunch at 12:30 in the room but i only eat a burger and fries from a local store

I eat at my computer every now and then, I usually don't because my desk is pretty small though.
I'm not allowed to eat in Mum's office (where the computers are) so I can't eat here, even if I wanted to. :(

Over this past week.. I managed to spill a total of 2 litres of water on my keyboard.
Before this, I have always been pretty good about keeping liquids and food away from the electronics. Which is why this is so puzzling to me..
Both instances occured because I would set the glass of water on the computer desk, phone would ring.. I would pick it up, get involved with conversation, swivel my chair around really fast out of habit when talking, and knock the glass over.
Surprisingly enough, my keyboard still works. Not only that.. but it doesn't make any loud clicking noises anymore.. Like.. it's improved! *Gasp* But, I have become mental about combining liquids/phone/computer now. D:

I ate in front of the computer just when watching some South Park episodes I have downloaded. Not when surfing the internet or doing other stuff...
Sort of... I will eat a sandwhich or whatever near it, but I won't touch the keyboard or anything. Maybe the mouse, but never the keyboard... lol...

I've eaten chicken wings, poutine(oh Canada), cheese burgers, umm just recently i had a donair......yeah the rest of the stuff i eat around my comp isn't messy so it isn't really significant.
To clean your keyboard turn it over, unscrew it, take it apart, clean the rubber under the keys and the silicon under that if need be, if the keys are dirty they just pop out with a bit of pressure with the exception of the space key which you should wash while the other keys are taken out.
You see, I use a laptop (hp pavilion 5040us) and I just like to keep it clean.
i eat crisps and chocolate and chocolate milk shake on my comp and so far nothing has aooened i usually lean on my chair while eating and my chair is usualy far from the comp like 40 CM's so if i did spill anything it wld land on the floor.
