Level 51!

I like the Halloween icon much better than the normal level 51 icon to be honest. Now it looks like a golden shaman staff or an awesome walking cane for a very wealthy gentleman.

With the amount of money Valve makes I don't see why they don't put more money into things like play testing. They only have around 240 employees. I think a company that makes as much money as them can afford to hire a few more people.

Hell, they can afford to make TF2 free but then again, that's only because of the hats.

True, I've even seen a few free games in my GOG library. Hard to complain as free games are still free but expect them to collect dust.
Treasure Adventure Game is fun for about an hour or so. They other free games don't really seem appealing to me.

And that's the major downfall to free games. Most of them won't be that good.

2005 was really NG's peak of popularity. Each day had at least 200 submissions and a Clock Day would have to be lucky to even get that much nowadays.
From what I've seen from forum post from 2005-2006, the BBS looked a lot more fun.

Yeah, at times I really do miss those days. Can you believe I was making 30-60 posts per day back then? It takes me a week just to make that much now. I guess back then threads were far more appealing to me.

One problem: I have no 360.
You can do it on PS3 too. Either way you do it you have to buy third party hardware, unfortunately.

That will have to be some other time. I'll see when my budget becomes more stable but right now is not the case.

Define "didn't work". Is that either a game-breaking bug or something that while unstable can still be played?
I'd say anything that's so buggy that it's nearly unplayable. I guess something like big rigs could be considered not working.

Then for consoles, it does happen. I've not forgiven Tomb Raider's broken games that had fatal glitches.

This is why a 360 is so tempting. I would happily go back to vanilla TF2. Hell, Valve should actually offer that option to provide vanilla mode for the game.
Is the PS3 version bad, or do you just mean so you can use a mouse and keyboard? Don't get your hopes up about it. It's fun to play the vanilla version of TF2 but the console version, in my experience, has very few people online and most people aren't very good.

I've heard many bad things about TF2 on PS3, particularly with exploits.

Maybe I've not seen Xbox Live in full action but I feel a subscription for extras like PSN is doing is more reasonable. Hell, I don't even recall any ads on PSN so yeah, what is Microsoft's reason? I would have accepted ads on PSN seeing as the online services are free for me.
The only reason I can think of, other than them doing it just for the money, is that it might discourage people from cheating.

That's the only good thing that seems to come from the subscription pay. Even so, ads on top of it as well? They sure know what they can get away with.

If he started B/Ping recently then it isn't that bad. I mean as of recently I've been regularly getting between a 1:20 to a 1:40 Save to blam ratio.. A lot of days I don't even get a single blam. If this continues, a year from now a 1:20 save to blam ratio will be considered okay for a new user.

Phew that's pretty high. I guess I'm just a touch harsher than you when I vote. I get somewhere around 1:10 to 1:15 P/B a day (which is disgusting, I was once 2:1 B/P not P/B) but there are the good days when you might get 5 to 8 blams and then you get 0 and 1 for the next 2 days. It's just so up and down. Very unpredictable.

But everyone that votes and especially heavy voters should be able to get at least 1 to 4 blams a day, you just need to be tougher on shitty submissions.

More people need to be educated on spotting shovelware and stolen games and Voting '0' on them. If the Portal Mods had the ability to see a submissions score and see if it was going to pass judgement, they could delete it, but if they could see it was not passing judgement because people were actually voting sensibly with '0' or '1' they could leave it be and then we don't miss out on our blam points.

You can only hope people grow up, smarten up and get with the program.

I have very little on vinyl. Infact, I've only got the one album on vinyl and it just so happened to have an artwork that mixes necrophilia and zoophilia... I only wanted it for the music. As for Iron Maiden, I have all their studio albums and the majority of live albums. I feel they've done too many live albums so I've only kept to the remasters and Rock in Rio. It's very rare I'd actually listen to live albums anyway. It just doesn't beat the real experience.

I thought that Fraeulein was being phased out, because it's usually a condescending term used by people visiting restaurants to summon their waitress.

I think it was used in a pejorative way quite often. And women just got fed up that they where only a "Frau" if they married.

Despite what I've learned about the English Language since, where a Master is higher up the food chain, professionally speaking, than a mere Mister.
So, a married woman is higher up the food chain than an unmarried woman?
Back in the 1950s, I'd have said so, as the profession "housewife" was well respected. Until then, nurse or secretary was good for a woman, until she got a husband...

Yeah, but society has developed since then. Or at least that's what I hope has happened. It's not sing of "weakness" for a man if his woman has a job as well.

She says "Call me 'Maybe'" not "Call me 'Carly Rae Maybe'".
Ah, right.

So if Maybe wants to change her name, she has to release a single called "(No, fuckwit) I really want you to call me Carly Rae Jephsen"?
Or maybe "I was just kidding, my name is Carly".
My song will sell better :P

There's only one way to find out... let's enter the studio and record the songs!

I thought that I was bad - I didn't get in until about half 2 and we'd only been watching Pirates of the Caribbean 4. Not as good as 1-3, if I'm honest.

When I got in, I ended up playing To the Moon, than I was talking to friends for about 2 hours, so it is mostly my fault.

That only lasted a week.

I'll vote for Toohot if you start using it to vote 0 on EVERYTHING in the Portal.

If you really want me to go 0 crazy on them, then hell yeah.

Man, you really need to brush up on your Maiden knowledge. You should know the nine tracks are Invaders, Children of the Damned, The Prisoner, 22 Accacia Avenue, The Number of the Beast, Run to the Hills, Gangland, Total Eclipse and Hallowed Be Thy Name. Yeah, I've familiarised myself with this album a lot.
Some of the knowledge that I just didn't need. If they come up on 3 in 10 on Pop Master, I know to say "Flight of Icarus", "Can I Play with Madness" and "Running Free"

Can I Play With Madness is horribly overrated. There are far better songs found on that album.

That plan doesn't sound obvious enough?
I thought it already had been fulfilled - Isn't some of the dragon porn front paged as Art Portal entries?

Nope, it has to be a front page feature.

I agree so much with this. It's why I hardly use emulators.

But it's fun to use the PS3-Controller with emulators. I also have a USB "Competition Pro"-like Joystick, which is awesome as well.

I'm always torn apart between self-titled, The Number of the Beast and Powerslave.
Easy pic for me: Number of the Beast. But "22 Acacia Avenue" is a lame song...
Second for me is Killers.
Everyone's a critic, it appears. I love 22 Accacia Avenue, as it's the second "Charlotte the Harlot" song. I think she appears in another one, but I'm not sure.

Yes, I think it's three songs. But I don't know the third right now.
Well, 22 Accacia Avenue is lame compared to songs like Run to Hills or Number of the Beast.

No, it means that they get more spending power, so they can buy better things. Technically, a Capitalist dream.

Hopefully I can get a job soon, then me and my wife can bring home some money. This is going to be awesome.

Now that sounds like a challenge.

"Challenge accepted"?

I found it on the german Wikipedia: It's âEUzCharlotte the HarlotâEU (Iron Maiden), âEUzHooks in YouâEUoe (No Prayer for the Dying) and âEUzFrom Here to EternityâEUoe (Fear of the Dark). So, it's actually four songs.

Yeah, it was pretty funny. I knew I was close to level up when you and Auz announced your level ups. And now I have over 100 days to go until the next level up.
Speaking of "days to go": Only 45 days to go until my next big achievement.

It works on my Netbook without any problems at all. After all, it's a normal USB Cable, so the Controller should recharge. But I think you have to install some little program to actually use the controller as a game pad on your PC/Laptop.
